no feed for the most part = no ducks. I found during first split the ducks were here today and gone tomorrow. Just gotta be lucky and hit the fronts right. We did kill a wide variety in the first split : greys, dogris, bwt, mallards, wood duck, widgeon, hoodies. I will be fishing sunday and brushing up a few ponds but am not expecting a great second split.

When the weather is right there are alot of birds. Put it to you this way you dont want to know how many i seen when it was cold last week...however when it warmed up you just end up killing a few most of time.

Rode it twice this week

Rode it yesterday and rode it Tuesday. Birds are there, but like others have said in low numbers and aren't staying. That is what is so frustrating. Didn't scout hardly at all last year and tore them up. Scouted a TON this year and have killed a lot less. Aint much for them to eat so numbers are still down and will stay down. They're feeding on mudflats rather than the usual grass beds. Therefore where you hunted them last year is most likely useless.

Sure you all have noticed this too, the water is and has been staying high. Tuesday it was down. When water is low I see a lot more birds, when ponds are 3 feet deep its a pain to pin point them.

I rode Long Bayou and towards Coquin yesterday where you mentioned and saw a handful of birds between there and Lower Grand Bayou. Like always mostly greys, a few mottled, a few teal, few hoodies and some token dogs. Saw maybe a couple hundred birds, but I was out there all day and logged close to 25 miles.... Pretty much rode from American Bay all the way past BASS. This cold should help though. Whole Midwest and Artic was blue on weather channel, looked like a massive front. Will be in the 40's next week.

keep it up

Hey duckhunter 777 keep up the good work. I enjoy your posts. Some people on this site are mean. Not sure why. I go to other sites in MS in FL as I hunt and fish there also. The people are nice for the most part. It must be a LA thing like litter. Like I said keep up the good work but don't be sooo hot on Biloxi Marshe because we all know it's not that great....right? Biloxi Marsh has seen its better days before MRGO and Katrina.
