Nice Mix there Must've been helluva Rough Day, We fished Rigolets while back south Shoreline b4 L&N Bridge caught @least 20-25 rat reds 13-14 inches One Sheephead 3 flounders 1 huge Door Mat Flounder 19 inch long, What did ya catch ummm on . We used Live&fresh shrimp

Jls - Most everything was caught on Gulp Swimming Mullets in white or green rigged tightlined. Some trout were on Lemonhead Matrix Shad under popping cork. And the big flounder and one big red were caught on the bottom using a redfish leader with a dead shrimp.

24 inch flounders typically don't weigh 11.5lbs unless you've got a 6 pound weight on the scale with it. He would have to be fat and well over 30 inches to be that heavy. I would say that 6 pounds is closer to the actual weight than 11.5 pounds. Nice fish regardless; looks like yall had a good day.

Sea Monkey - those are all nice fish but the Flounderses got my attention the most. Nice haul.

That is one nice Flounder. I don't make many comments on here but when a man says his fish is 11.5 pounds his fish weighs 11.5 lbs. Dont knock his glory.Again NICE FISH!

Devonb - All I can tell you is what the scale said. Now granted it was a cheap spring scale, the kind with the tape measure attached. So I will concede that it is probably not very accurate. Either way it's still the biggest flounder I've ever seen.

Your 25' Flounder weighed approx 6.25 lbs. Thats still a damn nice fish and definitely in the Doormat Category.

Not for nothing but Shimano makes inexpensive but accurate spring scales in light blue anodized aluminum. They have one that goes to 25lbs, another thats up to 50lbs and one that goes to 100lbs.

Ummmm Maybe the Fish is Alot Fatter&thicker then you think it is, I know i caught couple that were 20' and they had to be 5-6 lbs

Hey man, nice fish. I've caght a few fish in that size range. If that fish is thick, it could be pushing 7 lbs. I caught one in hopedale last year that was 25' and weighed 7 lbs on a true scale. If I hit 8 lbs, he's going on the wall.

I caught this flounder night fishing off a pier on the Ship Channel in Hackberry six weeks ago. I did not measure it, but it weighed 6.9 lbs.

I caught this flounder on a white gulp six weeks ago night fishing on the Ship Channel near Hackberry, LA.

Rattle Trap - that's a heck of a nice Mr Flappy! That pic is a perfect example of just how big a Flounder can open his mouth when ambushing prey.

I've never caught a Flounder at night - extra congrats to you! Only way I ever got 'em after dark was by gigging 'em. We'd do the Stingray Shuffle on the flats behind Jensen Beach and as the Flounderses went in the box, the beers came out.
