The start of opening morning 2012

Opening day

I have never heard shooting on the magnitude which I heard this past Saturday morning. Buy stock in ammunition companies because I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say about 3000 rounds were fired in our area. Ducks were EVERYWHERE! We got 11: 6 green wings, 1 pintail, 1 wigeon, 2 green heads, and a spoonie. We heard the first shot at 5:30am. That's 26 minutes before legal shooting time. Then the 'war' began and didn't begin to slow till 8 am. My first shot took down 2 teal!

I was fishing Saturday morning and it was pretty quiet in Delacroix,no 'war' going on over there.

Hmmmmm

Same thing in Bayou Black. Every ten seconds you heard shots. I wish i would have been one of the ones shooting, but we sank the mudboat early in the morning trying to do some last minute work. So i just got to sit at the camp and watch flocks fly in the distance.
