This is funny that you guys come up here to trout fish and my wife and I go to Happy Jack to Redfish. Just shows that it is a small world. The area that this post and other comments recommend is great, we have been there several times. If you want great trout fishing and are on a budget and want a wilderness experience, try the Spring River area here in North east Arkansas. It is great fishin, rural with camping, wade fishing , canoe rental, everything you would expect except the heavy tourist traffic. My wife and I go up there at least twice a month. We stay at a campgroud called Riverside Resort. They have small cabins starting at $50 up to houses for $100 a night. You fish 50 feet from where you stay. The wedsite for Riverside is Arkansascanoe.com if anyone in La. needs info on Northeast Arkansas trout fishing email me at chrismooreplumbing@yahoo.com I will be glad to help out since you guys always help me with info.

Arkansas info
Forgot to mention that the license in Arkansas for out of state is much cheaper then La. but you do need to get a trout stamp also.
