Hey PEE WEE. I cant speak for pro drive or any other brand other that go devil because i have a 23hp go-devil SURFACE DRIVE. NOT THE OLD STYLE GO DEVIL. Its un stoppable in the mud or weeds. GO to GO-DEVIL.com and check them out.

lol yeah go to the site owned by prodrive and gatortail to get an honest opinion on all mudmotors...thats funny! Thats like going to a chevy website and asking about fords! Plain and simple there all good motors it just depends on what you personally want out of a mudmotor. Go drive them all and then decide.

Peewee, the reason why I hardy ever post a comment on this site is because theres always some JACK-ASS that doesnt know what the hell hes talking about thats gona voice "his" opinion just to get a rise out of someone. For his information there is a lot of information on all types of mudd motors on that that site from individuals (not mfgs) on their personal experience. Surface drives and long tails. Just because there is a picture of a pro-drive and a GTR on the front dosent mean they own the site they just pay to advertise on it, but an idiot cant tell the difference. Good luck on your choice!

The best thing to is go go drive one. I have the mudbuddy and love it. I have 300 hours of hard swamp running. Never had a problem but fuel system. I have friends that have the surface drive (junk), Gatortail (they love it), Pro-drive (they love it also). But it depends what you want to for. They best reverse out the is from pro-drive. But you can look at everyone's site and see what they have. The reason I picked mudbuddy was because on there site you cam see all the different types of motors he has. They all run through mud,they all break,and everyones motor is the motor that suits them best.Pro drive has the baddest reverse,gator tail has instant reverse,go devil has the least amount of things that can break(but remember they all break),and they are all made here in La.Mud buddy has dealers down here and they will take care of you as long as you do not bash them on a web site somewhere,ha ha,the thing I like about the mud buddy is the location of the controls on the handle.As stated the engine is the weak link on all of them.I had a modded 35 with a little over 200 hours before the block cracked for no reason,other than that my motor never left me stranded.

Oh and mud motor talk isn't owned by prodrive and gatortail they are just all from the same home town,and yes they do alot of brand dogging over there but it goes both ways and if you cannot handle the heat stay out of the kitchen.When it comes down to it they get together and go run the boats and nobody cares what you run but if you get stuck and have to get pulled out you are going to take a beating.
