Baton Rouge Area Fishing

Does anyone have any suggestions for some decent bank fishing spots in or around Baton Rouge? I'm new to the area and I've tried the LSU campus lakes with no luck at all and I was just wondering what else is out here. Does anyone have any tips for fishing the LSU campus lakes? Thanks for the tips

for bass you pretty much need to be at cypress trees. However dunno whether you know it but those lakes are 3 to 4 ft in the deepest. tough fishin.

Bass fishing in Baton Rouge

Wadill WMA off Flanery Rd north of Choctaw has some great bass fishing in the bass/bream pond. They're open Tues-Sat 7:30 to 5:00. University Lakes are ok but don't eat any that you catch there. I hear the pond off of the No. 1 tee at the old Briarwood Country Club has some great fishing in it and since they are now closed you might get a chance to sneak in a catch a few. I will always recommend The Secret Fishing Hole in Slaughter. The bass fishing there is awesome and he'll rent you a boat with at trolling motor.

Secret Fishing Hole

I've seen several people talk about this Secret Fishing Hole on here, and it seems to be pretty amazing. How much does the guy charge?

$50 per person and the boat rents for $15 or you can launch your own. You can keep 8 per person under 16". The bream have no limit but you can't fill an icechest.

I talked to the man that has the Secret Fishing Hole.
The limit on bass during the spawning season is 5 after the spawning then it's back to 8, under 15". If you catch one big enough to mount. You give the owner a $100. You get it mounted with a plac on the mount as to where you caught it. Take a picture and show the owner and he will give you your $100 back. Its around 23 acre lake. The average dept is 4 foot. It has about 3 or 4 little islands. When he cleared some of his land around there he put the stumps in the lake.
It's really a nice place, well kept. The owner only allows two boats on the lake at a time. When you pay it's for all day fishing.
