Capt. Paul,
I have a 22 foot Skeeter Bay Boat equiped with a Lowrance. I'm not sure what series though. Its about 8 inches wide by 6 inches tall. I have all the LA waterways downloaded onto it. I am getting familiar with the unit and had a question. If I want to type in coordinates and try to get it to map me there, exactly how do I do this? I can not figure out how to do this nor get it to draw a trail of where you have gone. If you can shed any light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

I suggest that you spend some time reading your owners manual. It has all of the needed instructions for completing the functions that you need to learn.
If you don’t have one, Lowrance has been kind enough to provide an internet site where the manual can be downloaded. ( www.lowrance.com ) for free. To get the download you will need to know the model of your GPS receiver.
Basically you need to establish a position by either capturing (mark) it when at the location with your GPS or enter the coordinates that you have obtained from a source. You then select the Navigate to or GOTO option and the GPS will direct you to that entered position in A STRAIGHT LINE COURSE. Remember that the unit assumes that you CAN get to the GOTO location in a straight line course.
In order to list a position other than my being at the location and recording that position in your GPS, you may have to MARK a position then change the name and the latitude ~ longitude to the position you want to enter.
The track back features in turned ON and OFF by way of the MENU screen. I recommend that the tracks be cleared each time you begin your voyage. That way the only track you have is the one for the current trip.
It sounds like you are a candidate for my CAPTAIN PAUL’S HANDS ON SEMINAR.

Gps-Lowrance X15.
Capt Paul,
I am definately going to come to one of your classes soon. I am taking my parents fishing in Venice this weekend weather permitting. My GPS is the Lowrance X-15 model. I hope this helps. I looked at it last night so I could let you know. Please let me know when your next class is. My boat is the 2003 ZX Bay Skeeter. It should be the 03 model. Thanks again for your help. Kevin

SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH 2005</b>
<b>Captain Paul's GPS Systems, Hands On GPS Seminar with the Basics' will be held in the MEMORIAL BAPTIST SCHOOL CAFETERIA located at 5701 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, La. on SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH, 2005.
Sign in and late Registration will begin at 9:00 AM. An 'On your own' lunch break will be held at 11:30 AM. The 'HANDS ON' Field exercises should end by 3:00 PM.
