HOW TO?
~ Captain Paul's response to: ~ Kevin Abrams~
With out knowing the exact model of your Lowrance, I will be hard pressed to instruct you how to enter a coordinate and activate a GOTO course.
I suggest that you spend some time reading your owners manual. It has all of the needed instructions for completing the functions that you need to learn.
If you don’t have one, Lowrance has been kind enough to provide an internet site where the manual can be downloaded. (
www.lowrance.com ) for free. To get the download you will need to know the model of your GPS receiver.
Basically you need to establish a position by either capturing (mark) it when at the location with your GPS or enter the coordinates that you have obtained from a source. You then select the Navigate to or GOTO option and the GPS will direct you to that entered position in A STRAIGHT LINE COURSE. Remember that the unit assumes that you CAN get to the GOTO location in a straight line course.
In order to list a position other than my being at the location and recording that position in your GPS, you may have to MARK a position then change the name and the latitude ~ longitude to the position you want to enter.
The track back features in turned ON and OFF by way of the MENU screen. I recommend that the tracks be cleared each time you begin your voyage. That way the only track you have is the one for the current trip.
It sounds like you are a candidate for my CAPTAIN PAUL’S HANDS ON SEMINAR.
