NEMO.....North side of lake, where canals (Cancienne, Crackerhead) begin, but fished the lakeside of entrance. My 11 year old daughter caught two over three lbs on the new pop-r. Early morning top water. Then fished cypress knees for bream, crickets or worms.

Nemo...No problem. I wish you a good and safe trip. Yes, google earth does show both canals. Cancienne is the frst canal north of Attakapas Landing. I think google earth labels the canal as such. The canal is a one canal system with no breakoffs. The next canal to the north is the Crackerhead system. In my opinion, and I say this will all respect, you should not venture far into that system of canals. Many many canals and is like a maze. I fished there all my life (48 years) and still feel lost sometimes.

got a few good ones. water was very low

The bite has been fairly good in the main canals the first couple of hours. Then head to Belle River Spillway to finish filling the ice chest. Fish the current, fill the box.
