Be careful if you are buying wild hogs.
I think there are laws against transporting them from place to place.

I am not 100% positive, but I think you can transport them as long as they are not released back in the wild. They need to be confined to one's property and can't be left to open range.

Again I am not completely positive about this.

wild hogs

I am 100% positive that you can legaly sell and transport wild hogs in the state, but you can not transport across state lines with them alive. i trap hogs for fun and sell them to make extra cash. before i started, i went to LDWF and asked and thats what they told me.

It's in Texas that you can not transport live wild hogs. You can in La.

Re: hog

mudweiser_4x4, do you have any hogs right now? I'd be interested in getting one.

Double check

Unless the law changed from last year, I believe transporting feral hogs is a no-no if seen by LEO.

Can of worms

.............you may have opened up a can of worms with this post .........I know last year the word was out that there was a crew from Texas over here buying up hogs live and taking them back to Texas , story was they were letting them go on fenced hunting land for clients to shoot on paid hunts as a little bonus after shooting their trophy deer , antelope , or what ever , and they wanted the big ones and would pay a hundred dollars for a good one ......... I would have to guess , now after reading a few of these post , from a common sense stand point that it is probally illegal to take them over State lines alive and let them go into an unsecured area , hogs can become a real problem , but I have learned that common sense plays no part in such things .......... looking forward to some real answers , listening with one ear and hearing with the other ......
