Be careful if you are buying wild hogs.
I think there are laws against transporting them from place to place.
I am not 100% positive, but I think you can transport them as long as they are not released back in the wild. They need to be confined to one's property and can't be left to open range.Again I am not completely positive about this.Warren
I am 100% positive that you can legaly sell and transport wild hogs in the state, but you can not transport across state lines with them alive. i trap hogs for fun and sell them to make extra cash. before i started, i went to LDWF and asked and thats what they told me.
It's in Texas that you can not transport live wild hogs. You can in La.
mudweiser_4x4, do you have any hogs right now? I'd be interested in getting one.
Unless the law changed from last year, I believe transporting feral hogs is a no-no if seen by LEO.
what size u looking for and how much have a freind that traps them got 3 right now in a pen
.............you may have opened up a can of worms with this post .........I know last year the word was out that there was a crew from Texas over here buying up hogs live and taking them back to Texas , story was they were letting them go on fenced hunting land for clients to shoot on paid hunts as a little bonus after shooting their trophy deer , antelope , or what ever , and they wanted the big ones and would pay a hundred dollars for a good one ......... I would have to guess , now after reading a few of these post , from a common sense stand point that it is probally illegal to take them over State lines alive and let them go into an unsecured area , hogs can become a real problem , but I have learned that common sense plays no part in such things .......... looking forward to some real answers , listening with one ear and hearing with the other ......
i do have a hog right now, email me for more info if you still need it, firstname.lastname@example.org and it is legal to sell and transport hogs in the state, just cant take them across state lines and they had to be caught on private property. i make a second living trapping and selling hogs and i made sure with LDWF before i started.
