Inshore Fishing in Lake Pontchartrain / Northshore in Southeast Louisiana
Glad the Fall plastic bite is back!!
Been out of commission for a while installing wood floors in the house so haven't made too many trips lately.
Made a quick trip yesterday morning to my favorite haunt in the lake. Got the boat in the water just as the sun was cracking the horizon. Saw lots of bait moving along the shoreline and decide to give the top water a couple attempts. That was it just attempts, no takers. Made my way to go sling some plastic at some concrete. The wind was blowing pretty good out of the west and made it a little challenging to keep the flat boat in position. Then the falling tide came a screaming, which added some fuel to the fire!! Pecked at em for a few hours and ended the day with 10 nice specks on ice, left 4 with lip damage!!
Last weekend got to see reds and jacks in a feeding frenzy in the lake while fishing with a buddy. Was a pretty cool thing to see, was a first for me. We were able to pull a few reds out of the mix.
