I have a 1648 alumacraft john boat that I am rigging as a duck/fishing boat. The transom has been reinforced with stainless tube struts. Transom wood is being replaced. Not having any experience with a SD type motor, I am curious as to what HP I should be looking for to get the best performance from this rig. I'm not a speed merchant, but do want to be able to run the river and backwaters so it....
Sorry to post a forum type question, but looking for help with teleflex steering. For the last year I have had to purge my system numerous times and able to get good tightness, but the next day or two it loosens up again to where you have to turn the wheel quickly to get a turn. If you turn slowly it does not move the engine. I changed the seals on the ram even though I did not think this was....

Slipped out yesterday after the rain to fish Lake Pontchartrain for a few hours. Capt. Jim and I fished the bridges with plastics on Golden Eye jigs. Caught a mess for dinner, not many but some were Big. When the weather allows there are some nice Speckled Trout in Lake Pontchartrain.

We were at it again this morning. I helped Capt. Marty out with his Inolect crew. We got a late start waiting for the wind to calm a little because of the passing storms. Lonnie, Jamie, Hue, and Mike jumped on the Bluewave and we were off. The first hour or two it wasn't looking good but when the winds calmed down the trout bite turned on even tho the water wasn't the prettiest. We fished a....

This morning looked like a weather cancellation so my customers were on standby at their camp. We slept in til about 8:00 am, checked the radar, and set all systems on go. The wind was cranking hard out of the north making much of lower Dularge seemingly unfishable. We armed ourselves with bait crabs in case we had to get down and dirty with some bull reds, but the plan was speckled trout as the....
Lonnie Barr with Inolect was back with us today busting up the Yellow Mouths. Chef Shawn P boiled some shrimp and fixings last night and everyone got their fix. Conditions looked less than favorable this morning, but we knew we had to produce. The morning started out slow at the first stop, but the second stop the magic happened!!! Combination of the Matrix Shad lures and Fins Windtamer....
Overall the fishing was decent down here at Sweetwater Marina in Delacroix, with folks seeming to do a little better with the Reds than the Speckled Trout. Weather permitting the fishing should be good for the rest of the weekend. We will have live shrimp for tomorrow. So come on down to Sweetwater Marina in Delacroix and remember we are the second launch.
Charters and lodging are....
Had Bill and his family on board today. We were greeted with a 15 - 20th see wind today.
That had the tide rushing in instead of falling. We made a bunch of stops today and never got on a real good bite, just few here and there. We called it a day when I had a slight motor problem.
All fish were caught on 3/8 Oz sliding sinker in 12 ft of water on live....
A break in the rain today and we were finally able to spend a whole day on the water. We had a slow start with windy conditions but as soon as the winds died down the fish turned on. 80 nice trout isn't to bad! Captain Olden 985-856-6494
Looking for information on fishing these two lakes with kayaks. Any reports, spots, techniques is greatly appreciated looking to head out next weekend with a buddy! Didn't see much recent on BCKFC on this area either
What does the Save Louisiana Coalition have to say about the article on the sediment diversions? Are they for it or against it. I know they are against large scale diversions but these are a sediment diversions that i think would really benefit the region. Its as natural as can be compared to the natural flooding that took place before the levees. Just looking for opinions and opinions of the....
