WMA youth lottery deer hunt applications available online now

Deadline for submissions is 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, LDWF says

Seven wildlife management areas across the state are participating in the deer youth lottery hunt program through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for the 2015-16 season.

Kids can apply for hunts through the Wildlife Division on Buckhorn, Dewey W. Wills, Floy Ward McElroy, Richard K. Yancey and Sherburne WMAs, as well as Atchafalaya Delta and Point-Aux-Chenes through the department’s Coastal and Non-Game Resources Division.

Applications are available now on the LDWF website by clicking here.

Wildlife Division applications are displayed under the “Deer” category, and are for Buckhorn, Dewey W. Wills, Floy Ward McElroy, Richard K. Yancey and Sherburne WMAs only.

The Coastal and Non-Game Resources Division applications are under the “Deer – Coastal WMAs” category, and are for Atchafalaya Delta and Point-Aux-Chenes only.

These hunts are restricted to youth hunters only, who will be selected through a lottery process.

Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. The application form, along with a $5 administrative fee payment, must be sent to the specific address listed on the application form.
