Parking area to close starting May 20 for boardwalk construction
The Joyce Wildlife Management Area Swamp Walk that was damaged during Hurricane Isaac will soon be replaced, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Beginning on May 20, while the existing boardwalk is removed and the new one is constructed, the Swamp Walk parking area will be temporarily closed, the release states.
Construction at the site, which is located in Tangipahoa Parish south of Pontchatoula and east of Interstate 55, is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
