Camp Beauregard WMA closing in January to hunting

Louisiana National Guard exercises cause change in hunting regulations, LDWF says.

Hunting on Camp Beauregard Wildlife Management Area will be prohibited Jan. 7-13 because military exercises on the property were recently scheduled for that time, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced.

The 12,500-acre tract of land is owned by the Louisiana National Guard, which uses it as a troop-training facility.

No other closures are scheduled at this time, but the LDWF said there other partial or complete closures could be announced as military exercises dictate.
