LDWF reopens Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge

Site had been closed due to flood damage from Tropical Storm Cindy

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reopened much of Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, after the location was closed last week because of flood damage from Tropical Storm Cindy.

Repairs to the Joseph Harbor launch and other sites have been completed, but Price Lake Road and the Hess water control structure will remain closed at this time.

The 76,000-acre refuge, located in eastern Cameron and western Vermilion Parishes, borders the Gulf of Mexico for 26 miles.
