LDWF schedules public hearings on proposed hunting seasons

State-wide meetings held this week

If you have an opinion on proposed duck season dates, wildlife management area rules and regulations changes or upcoming turkey seasons, now’s the chance for your voice to be heard.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is hosting public meetings around the state all this week to gather comments on a laundry list of items, including proposed 2017-19 resident game hunting season dates, 2017-18 waterfowl and migratory bird hunting season dates, 2017-18 WMA rules and regulation changes and the 2018 wild turkey season.

Remaining meeting dates and locations are:

Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at the New Iberia VFW Hall-Post 1982, 1907 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia;

Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Ruston Historic Fire Station Building, 200 East Mississippi Street, Ruston;

Friday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at the LSU Ag Center Building, 7101 Gulf Highway, Lake Charles, and

Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. at the Louisiana State Evacuation Shelter at LSU-Alexandria, 8125 Hwy. 71 in Lecompte.
