- The LWFC heard plenty of options from biologists involving speckled trout at its Sept. 5 meeting, but no changes in fishing regulations have been set yet.

- Capt. Theophile Bourgeois, owner of Bourgeois Fishing Charters in Barataria, died in a plane crash in Chandeleur Sound on Sunday, Aug. 18.
