I just found out that my paw in law is going on a turkey hunt this weekend somewhere out of state...I thought he might have meant duck huntin. I'm no big time turkey hunter but I do know we only have a spring season but come to find out many states have a spring and fall season. Why don't we?

All in a days work!

I took my dad fishig for father day. We launched out of he Riolets. One of the stops all the way down the ICW aroud Michould. When we went to leave motor did not start. Sounded like starter draggin. Popped cowling and starter housing was cracked as if someone pried on it. Read my letter and give me some opinions where to go next if the Company does not respond.

To whom it may concern,
My name is Thomas A. Mcwillie and some time during September 2012 I dropped a 2003 Stratos boat off to you for an engine diagnosis. The diagnosis was a bad swivel bracket and EMM. So I ok'd the parts to be repaired. Here lies the problem. My problem is with the integrity of the work done by the mechanic. I take my boat to-(A very reputable and popular boat sales and repair place, which I will not disclose at this time) because I thought highly of your mechanics, but not so much anymore. First of all, when I went to pick up my boat the first thing I noticed right off the bat, should have been obvious, was that the motor was mounted on the boat crooked. That should never happen at a reputable company like yours, that sounds more like a backwoods, working out of a garage type of mechanic work. Second, when my boat was dropped off all my guages worked with out flaw, so when I noticed that my trim guage did not work anymore, I brought it to the attention of the mechanic (Blank) and he told me that my guage went bad. That is quite coincidence considering he had to do work to on the swivel bracket which houses the sensor for the tilt guage. This bring me to problem number three, while on the water with my dad for Fathers Day 2013, the starter on my motor would not get the motor running. It sounded like the starter was dragging. No problem, starters go out, it happens. I thought I would take the motor cover off, and see if I could diagnose the problem because I did not want to have to call 'SeaTow' while 17 miles from the boat launch. When I took the cowling off I was very disappointed to see that the whole starter housing had been cracked. Now I know the mechanic had to do work around the cracked area because he had to hoist the motor to change the swivel bracket, and this is also the area he had to work on to change my EMM. Go figure, another coincidence, something your mechanic worked with was broke. I can't say for sure that your mechanic broke it, because I never removed the cowling until the other day when the motor failed to start but I can find no other reason for the housing to all of a sudden just break. Why it took so long to stop working, I'll blame that on rough water, or transporting the boat on Louisiana roads, but I do know that it was not broke before I took it to 'BLANK'. Last but not least another problem with the integrity of the mechanic work. The main reason my boat was brought to 'BLANK' was because the motor would not stay running. I was told that the computer is water cooled and that a thermocoupling went bad and fried the EMM. When I pulled the cowling off I was amazed to see the waterline going to the EMM was not fastened to the computer in any way and was actually leaking water. Good thing it never actually came all the way off and fry another $1,218.93 computer.
So all in all I paid $2,500.09 just to have more problems.
Any help would be greatly appretiated.

So I told my cousin and his friend we were gonna go after a lil catfish. Little did they know we were gonna be after some monsters. They had a great time. We eneded the trip with numerous lbers...one at 15lbs and one at a whopping 36lbs. Then we had to make them boys clean those cats. Also wanted to show ya'll a new type of gator bait. No stinky smell required. This is not the first one they have 'played with.'

So I was doin some scouting the other day and deer sign was everywhere...everywhere I saw deer tracks there were yote tracks. I have personally seen many and heard them at night. So I'm going to start hunting them to thin them out a lil. Other than mounting one what do most do with them? Let them lie where they fall?

Well my brother is in on leave from Japan. Not having seen him for a year and a half, we got to make some good memories. Thursday we went and scouted for some fish. Ended up with a few, not to mention about a 2.5lb kicker bass. Then my father, brother and I got to make the bonding trip today. We found a hole of redfish. Must have caught 100 redfish. The fish were so hungry we were even catching them with a just a red 1/4oz jig head(No shrimp/nothing!) We tried to find some trout but didn't want to wonder too far from the boat launch because of the looming rain and eventually ended with a few black drum. All in all we had a great time.

We finally got to make a relaxing trip to the camp on Maurepas since it was flooded from Isaac. No work, just play. Thought I'd run a few jugs and ended up with a nice snapper. How old do ya'll think he is, I tried counting. I'm guessing b/w 25 and 30yrs old? Thought I'd share a couple photos with ya'll!!

Is the adjusted governor rpm under load at 3800rpms? Are you positive you have the same pitch prop as you had when you purchased the motor? 1' of diameter is a lot to lose i would think.

What year is the motor. the later year motors were awesome. early fichts were junk. I have an 03 and it runs like a typewrite as long as i gap the plug around every 50hrs. That computer is water cooled and if you ever over heated and kept running it you prob fried the thermocoupling hence. I had a similiar problem. I could start motor and it would run fine until it got warm then would cut off. If i started it and got on it it would stay running because water was being circulated. eventually i fried the computer. If i knew what i know now i would have had it looked at earlier. 1200 for to have computer sent off and and fixed from evinrude. Performance marine works on mine but only if i have to. Long story short take pics and videos of everything before you bring it. the mech ended up breaking my starter housing. he also mounted the motor crooked on the boat and didnt put any zip ties or hose clamps on some of the piping in my motor. There is an evinrude mechanic in prairieville but i can't remember his name. he has a huge shop behind his house. His son is a cert. tech for evinrude.
Since the comp. fix its been a great motor. Good on gas n oil! with my 19ft bass boat loaded it does 60s
