HEY PEOPLE, I get bored at work and come on here to pass the time. Only to find one fishing report asking how the fish are biting on a lake 5 hours away from me. They should rename this website to louisiana trout redfish and offshore fishing ....com. Because that's all I see. A bunch of charters getting free advertising for our dollar. Are there any other websites that focus on north louisiana fishing. And I don't want to read the word Toledo bend, Because that's on the other side of the state. And believe me, I've read how great the fishing is on that lake, over and over and over again from the million guides there trying to get my dollar. Maybe I should start a new site. www. louisiana goo, carp, and buffallo fishing. Because as for now that's about as valuable the info is on here to me. I want to hear from you. Post your report. Let everyone know. But keep the bass fisherman's code. Don't give location color or any specific info that might lead people to your favorite hole to catch fish you've already got dibs on. I don't mean to get anyone upset, just want to get people to post a topic. Untill next time. Catch and release....into a fry'n pan :-)
I picked up my fishing buddy around 9am and we headed to our favorite fishing hole last week. On the way to the lake we started talking about how he'd never caught anything over 3 pounds, maybe 4. Soon he will be moving and his time with me on this lake is almost up. We figured now was as good a time as any. I was expecting the water to be high, but it was only a few inches higher than normal. I was thrilled, considering the rain we've been having. But the color looked like chocolate milk. It was that stained. I started off with the same bait I left off with back in october. 7inch zoom u tail redshad worm. We hit our favorite spot where we've never failed to catch fish....nothing doing. Maybe a hit that felt like a stump, but that's it. I remember reading where a weightless lizard fished extra slowly will get those hits from the fishing roaming the flats early spawn.....a couple of hours later....Nothing doing. I remember catching a few on jigs this time of the year last year. No sir. They did not want it either. We were stumped....and when push comes to shoove, you got to go with the dummy bait. I tied on the bandit crankbait (chart with red belly) and my buddy was going to put the same bait on. I told him that maybe a white pink eye would do the trick. So he tied it on. We threw cranks till our arms were sore. But on one cast he got lucky. I've never seen a quicker catch on a five pounder. No sooner could I get the net the fish was at the boat and then on my deck. He swears he snagged the fish, but i find it hard to believe because he hooked her with the back hooks right under her bottom lip. Not a wall hanger, but he was happy. Went back a couple of days later and I caught one on my second cast and 5 hours later we still only had one fish in the boat. Consistency. That's all I ask for:-)
Has anyone been catching the perch out of poverty point? I haven't tried, but did bass fish there when they first opened. I heard last year that they were trying to drop the limit to 25 because so many people were catching 50 and coming back and catching 50 more and so forth and so on. Any tips will be appreciated and maybe rewarded to my little bass hole a few miles down the road. Not too big on the Perch fishing, but I would love to get on them this year. I've got to have something to do to get away from the ole lady every once and a while.
Are any of you like me now that the hunting season is coming to a close???? I'm getting that fever...Had it for over a week now. Last week it hit me so hard I had to go put my boat in the water and catch a few catfish. But I'm not talking about cat fishing. BASS fishing. Things have been shut down on my favorit spot, and I've still got a couple of months to wait before they heat up again. But I can't wait till they do. Think I'm going to try for some white perch on Darbonne. I heard they have the pallets marked with yellow bouies. Are these very visible from the dock, or do you have to ride all over the lake to find them? I hate the stumps in that lake. If not there then maybe Turkey Creek or Larto lake. Any information is appreicated.
I was hunting close to Monroe the other day and saw this beer. He walked within 5 feet and never did see me, but I knew he smelt me. I was lucky enough to get this picture clear because I was shaking. Almost wet my draws. Anyways, if you believe that, I bet you believe Carl's story too. Only difference is that my story is half true. This beer is actually in Monroe.
This deer was killed on Dec.14 from 10 yards....Located on a hunting club next to BuckHorn close to Newlton....First bow kill.
