I am getting a 4 beep code on my 2002 225hp EFI Mercury. The motor would beep 4 times then stop for a few minutes then repeat. I have what seemed to be good water pressure(changed pump this spring), the outside oil tank was half full and the one under the cover is full to the top. I cahnged the fuel/water sep this spring, checked the fuel filter under the cover and all seems good. Later, I was on top and the motor fell off step as if it overheated and cut ignition to half the engine. The motor seems to run fine up to 2000prms but when trying to get on step the alarm goes off (constant) and half the cylinders seem to cut off and I have to put to motor in neutral for the alarm to go off again, then idles fine. Can anyone help??? Thanks in advance!!!

Also, How can I ask the boat doctor on this site?

The way I see it is if your property sunk and flooded over with tidal water, as long as I don't get out of my boat I'm not on your land.

This is not pointed at anyone specific, just calling bull on this whole tidal water trespassing crap.

Guys, go to this website for info.

Also, the structures will be removed due to liability. About 6 yrs ago, the company I worked for owned EI 53 which was a hot trout spot. The company tried to work out a deal to removal all equipment, leave the structure, add the necessary lighting for safety and the coast guard maintain from there. The Gov\'t said no because it did not want the responsibility in the event of an accident. So remove the structure is what we had to do! Yet another hot spot gone! At least something is being put in their place here. Cause other areas get nothing!

Depends on the size boat you have to put the nets on. If you can find used equipment, much cheaper than getting built unless doing it yourself. I bought used and got a good deal from what it cost to have the same built.

A comment titled: SAD in response to a report titled: Red Snapper Update - Gulf Council

Sad to see this. There are more snapper out here than we can catch. The feds claim there are no fish but then force the companies to remove more habitat. Kinda strange the way they figure their data.

A comment titled: Marsh disappearing in response to a report titled: Wetland restoration a joke

Nitrous Kyle, I don't think it is the production from offshore drilling he is beating up on. I too work offshore but I too, believe that that the constant dredging of drilling locations and pipeline canals had a very negative effect on our marshes. This allowed more access of salt water deep into our estuaries. That in conjunction with the leveeing off of the rivers was a horrible combination which has lead to the destruction of our coast. So yes, the oil companies did play a major role.

A comment titled: Rig Removal in response to a report titled: Shipshoal 26 (The Pickets)

Some of you may be familiar with EI 51...was a trout haven...I worked for the company that had to remove it...The company tried to donate it as an artifical reef, but you have to have a 30ft depth navigational clearance...We were going to install navigational lights and asked that the USCG maintain them, but no governmental agency would take responsibility for it...I now work for the company that owns SS 26 and they would run into the same issues...the companies are being forced to destroy these ecosystems...Sad but true!

I believe the past that after 75 years of study it was agreed that at some point we would see a decline in aquatic populations due to habitat loss...I belive it refered to as the COLLAPSE of the ECOSYSTEM...personally I don't believe the bp spill has a whole lot to do with it...

A comment titled: Wellhead? in response to a report titled: FEDs killing red snapper by 1000s

KeaKar, just to let you know, when a platfrom is lft as an artificial reef, there is no longer any wellheads on the platfrom. All well have been P&A'd which mean the well has been cemented and removed. As far as the production equipment, it has to be cleaned or removed from the structure then it can be used as a reef. Just wanted to clarify this for those who may not be familiar with the operations offshore so that we don't think that using these old structures would cause an environmental concern.

A comment titled: size and limit in response to a report titled: Spillway Bass Limits

Seems to me that the LDWF would use the same idea here as with redfish. If they are going to lower the creel limit to 7, then they should have a size limit. If a person is fishing for fillets, and he catches his limit of seven and continues to fish, he may tend to replace the smaller dead fish with a larger fish. Gonna lose alot of little ones over this!!!

As for those who plan on going out and catch one limit after the other just to fill the freezer, well they are doing that anyway and nothing but a game warden and a fine can stop that.

My dad has a 16ft tracker hull. It has plenty of holes corroding throught the transom. He used it in saltwater and fresh. The aluminum is very thin. Might be the saltwater, but I can't say that for sure. May not be much help, but thats all I can tell you.

A comment titled: Constitution in response to a report titled: NRA official: Obama wants to outlaw guns in 2nd term

Well, its also in the Constitution that the gov't can not force you to purchase a service but you Will buy healthcare or pay the gov't a penalty. If you pay any attention to Obama, you will notice that he only uses the word Constitution when he needs it. But when he wants to shove something down your throat, he steps on the Constitution and says that it is stopping him from transforming America.

Pay close attention and 'listen' to him to his words, don't just hear him talk!

A comment titled: Well... in response to a report titled: A mudbuddy with a mercury lower unit hooped up , here we go pawpaw

Pipeliner, the reverse on an outboard is not good in the mud. Sooo...thats my point.

And, a prop is designed to push through the water, not pull. Another reason why the prodrive FPR is so successful.

If the lower unit don't spin around, then the reverse will just good enough to back it off the trailer just like Gatortail!!!

Oh, you will also be able to fill your boat with mud and water too!!!

It sad that some one can break the law, hurt themself and blame some one else. No matter where it happened. But still, it was built with public funds, it should be public property. The canal only. If outcry from the public is whats needed, then here is your chance!

I'm just tired of these landowners being able to trap fish and wildlife that belong the the public.
