Does anyone know the brand of the hooks used on the matrix mullet? I see the description about the nickel plating and all, but no mention of what kind they are. I'm asking because they are hands down the sharpest hooks I've ever fished with. I usually go with something like gamakatsu depending on the type of hook but I've used a lot of different brands. None were even close to these. They are honestly dangerous if you're used to normal hooks. They will hook you for looking at them the wrong way, so just curious to see if Chas or anyone else can tell us where they came from. Thanks

Can anybody recommend a welder or shop within an hour of metairie/new orleans area to install simple float pods on the transom of an aluminum jon boat? Is it better to have them made or buy the pre-made beavertail brand at cabelas? Its for a small 15-48 alweld. Any help appreciated, thanks

What's heart pounding about that except the price tag for what you're getting?

I get Capt. Rorry's point on destroying the base of the food chain and the ensuing effects on everything else higher up. But I'm confused about the report posted from Daryl Carpenter. It sounded like the pogie boats were causing the fish to die from something other than starvation. Almost like they die just because the boats were there, not from lacking nutrients due to the lower number of pogies. Do pogie boats cause large fish kills like this from something other than just robbing the food that everything else feeds on? Are they bringing bigger fish in as by-catch and killing them? Or somehow causing hypoxic conditions just from being there? Don't know much about pogie and menhaden fishing other than passing a boat or two and putting the hammer down to get the hell away from the smell and birds.
