Fall fishing on the island is getting under way. Fish are starting to show up in the normal spots and plastics are starting to out fish live bait.
It that time to book a trip for the up coming weeks.

I’ve got this Saturday open and most the next week if anyone would like to make trip.

Thanks Capt. Frank

Got plenty of days open now till the end of September if anyone wants to get in on the action.

I’ve found in past few days that the croaker run is back in action. Been free lining most of the time on the beach or on the oyster beds around the area. May not have great numbers but the fish are on the large side.
Come get in on some of the action in the coming weeks.

Thanks Capt. Frank

Had a great weekend doing the CCA legislators rodeo. I had Senator Kennedy on the boat on Saturday and he caught some real nice fish.
The fishing’s getting better as the days go on this month. Found some nice trout out towards the east and in the beach. Watch your weather and tides and you should be able to put some good fish in the box.
With all that said I have Thursday and Friday open this week. Give me a call and let’s have some fun on the boat

Thanks Capt. Frank

Fishing on Grand Isle has been at its best for the past few weeks. Finally got the right winds and clean water on the beaches and the fish have been there on a consistent basis. Live crockers on the bottom have worked the best and matrix shad have produced some nice fish as well.
Got a few open days left this month if anyone would like to make a trip to the island and catch a few trout. Got July 20th, 26th, and the 29th open. The 20th is a Friday.

Thanks Capt Frank

We have, what I believe to be river water, all over us on the island.
Fished this past weekend and had a lot trouble finding clean water and trout. Both days had around 20 or so trout and a few small redfish.
With dirty water high winds and no tide it almost impossible to catch fish without live bait.
Hopefully the water will clean up and the Lord will bring down the winds so we can get on the beach and open water.

Looks like it went back to 15 to 20 out of the south. The south shore might be good but if the winds have any west in it the seas will get rough. I'm fishing in the marsh, ICWW and around the MRGO. The wall has been holding some fish lately.
With a south or southwest wind the West side of the MRGO should be doable.

Good Luck!!

I'll be fishing in Lake and the surrounding area up till late march. So give me a call if you or anyone you may know wants to make a trip. I charge a flat rate of 500.00 for 1 to 4 people. I'm still learning a lot about the area and how to fish it and when.

No. vudo and live minnows. from the surface to the bottom. Had birds working the area I wanted to fish so as soon as we pulled up it was on. 2 hours and done. Wind got so bad they didn't even want to catch any reds, and I was glad. 30 knots make it hard to move the boat around.

If the wind stays out of the south you can find calm water all behind the island. Grand Terre will also be protected from a south wind and I've been catching a few trout and redfish east of the pumping station along the rocks. Hope this helps.

Hey T-will if the winds are down enough I would and will be on the beach between Grand Isle and Fourchon. The winds the last few weeks have kept us from fish the beaches thats why there are no reports but the fish are there. Live shrimp and croakers.

Hey redspeck-able, I'm not happy that happen to you, but I know pretty much all the guides on the island and that boat does not look like any of the guides I know. Not to say he's not from some where else. Most guides from the Island don't do that kind of thing to other boaters.
That kind of stuff happens to me all the time and I know how you feel.
Hang in there and keep fishing.

A comment titled: Grand Isle Fishing in response to a report titled: Grand Isle

Good Morning jdmgwagon. Fishing on the island is getting better by the day. I've been fishing north in the marsh and catching redfish for the past few weekends. Trout are slow but when you catch some they have been larger then normal. Ponds off of the main canels have produced the most reds, and the deep hole have held trout.
Look for your high tides and fish on the fall. Make sure you have enough water to get in the ponds on low tide. H & H spinner baits have worked the best the last couple of weekends. Live minnows under a cork have done the job as well.
Have fun and be safe. Starting in April we will see a shift in the trout pattern. Open water on warm days will produce trout in numbers, and next thing you know we will be in the summer pattern.

Any questions are feedback give me a call (225-202-28584)and we can talk further.

Thanks Capt. Frank
