I had a pistol go overboard and did not find it for 2 days. Now the Titanium is discolored and I would like to get it cleaned. If you have any suggestions or know someone who can clean it please let me know. My Gunsmith told me I would have to send it to Smith and Westen and they do not work cheap.

Thanks
Tommy

I was throw out of my Boat Friday by the East Pearl river on a small slew. My Pistol fell out and was lost. I know where but slew was just over my head and it was to cold to dive under. I walked around feeling with my feet with no luck.
I am going back sunday with some nets but would like to find a Industrial size magnet instead. If anyone has an Idea where I can rental or borrow PLEASE let me know it was my wife gun.

Thanks

We killed 30 bunnies last weekend. We had a 12 year kill his first and finished with 3 on the day and it only took 30 or so shoots.

My hunting buddy has that same size boat with a 29hp on it. It is alittle over powered but in my 20 or so years of exp. I have never wished I had less power always wanted more when I was stuck.

A comment titled: Corn prices in response to a report titled: THE PRICE OF CORN

Thanks to the bad idea of corn based ethanol has caused the prices to rise. it has cause a rise in wheat (wheat farmers are growning corn instead) and will cause beef to rise also. Farmer are dumping cows onto the market becuase of the high cost of feed which will cause a spike in beef when the surplus is used up.

A comment titled: Get in response to a report titled: Dog training

My female at a young age was doing better the most like your puppy. When I started working with some others and they told me so my head got big and I started pushing my dog to hard. I want to advise you of this so you don't make the same mistake. I had to give her a month off 3 months before the season start. (I started hunter her at 8 months).

Let the dog tell you how good she is by her progression not friends.

During my training with another trainer; he convince me to give her a couple of days off as need. Another words I would work her for a length of time then for 2 days all she got was fun bumps. I would read how excited she was during the session to decide when she need down time. He usually work them 5 to 8 days then 2 days off depending on the dog.

A comment titled: Good in response to a report titled: how many horses???

Good is subjective. Yes some WMA don't allow over 25hp. Check which one you will be hunting on to decide how big to go.

I have a 35hp on a 16x48. It is alittle over powered but I have never wished I had less power. When we get stuck, fatter, or add hunter we wish we had more.

I WOULD NOT BUY ONE WITH OUT POWER TRIM. I USE MY ALMOST EVERYTIME I MOVE. If you have been running a longtail for a long time you maybe able to do without reverse like I did. I did not want the added weight.

A comment titled: That is a great Idea. in response to a report titled: Dog Training help

When I had that trouble a trainer I was working with, told me to start walking away when the dog start returning. A few times I got in my truck and drove away, after sprinting half a mile or so she got the idea. Looking back don't know if that was a good idea or not.

A comment titled: Motor in response to a report titled: information needed

I have a 35hp on a 16x48 and get 27 empty 23 heavy loaded. I don't know what is wrong with the mudbuddy but that is what I have. I bought it because of the power trim and it was lighter. I WOULD NOT BUY ONE WITH OUT POWER TRIM. I was told left and right that once you set the trim you leave it. I guess I don't know how use my motor because I trim almost every time I get in the mud. DID I MENTION I WOULD NOT BUY ONE WITHOUT POWER TRIM.

I have heard some good things about mini hyperdrive. I meet a man with a 23hp on a 14 flat and ran 25.

Oh don't want to forget to mention NOT TO BUY ONE WITHOUT POWER TRIM.

A comment titled: Paint in response to a report titled: Looking for direction

When I did mine; I took some leaves that I want stencils of. Then lay the leaves on it. Then you paint over them and you cut out the leaves on the poster board and you have a stencil.

If you have and air compressor you can buy a paint sprayer for around $30 at habor freight.

I don't remember the brand of paint I used. It starts with a D I think it was Dux________ or Duc______ marine paint. I notice Total supply in reserve sell the brand. I used a pirogue green as a base coat.

My hunting buddy kept losing birds. He would live the dead ones floating and pick up on the way out. When he went looking for them he found chewed up buddies. He latter saw a Nutria run for one of the chewed up buddy..

A comment titled: My 2 cents in response to a report titled: steel shot

Steel shots not going anywhere so it doesn't matter. Lead was heavier and softer. When the lead hit it would smash and cause more damage. Steel is doesn't not travel as far. and goes straight through and and can cause less damage.

To me it is like get shot with and 9mm that goes straight through v's a a 40 that breaks bones on its way out.

If you stop trying to shot 50 yard shots it will not matter.

I shot 3 inch 4 shot with an improved cyclinder(bad speller) and drop them at 35 yards over the decs dead.
This season I started using a cyclinder.

If we all stop shotting long shot the duck would come in close. I am doing my part.

A comment titled: My other 2 cents in response to a report titled: WATEROWL REFUGES

I started hunt the first year of the 3 duck limit (I believe 1988). This is the 9 season I have hunt in Lake Learny. There is deversion (bad speller) canal that ties in about 3 north of our lease. I have so much grass that a 30 mph can't make white caps 100 yards off the shoreline.

Grays made 85% or so of our bag for the season. Starting 2 season ago it starting change. This year don't think we killed 15 grays. In 20 years this is the first time I quit early. I took my blind off 3 weeks early.

Last year I only had 5 hunts we did not limited out on. We hunt 1-4 guys a hunt. This year we did not limited out once. We made 3 hunts with 2 guy and 3 hunts with 1 man.

I think that up north when they do not let the water freeze up is killing us. I also think the birds moved more west.

A comment titled: I have had both in response to a report titled: motor

I started with 8 then up to 18hp longtail. Now have a 35 hyperdive. If you are running across any stumps the longtail is better in my view. I think the longtail has better hole shot. Those who sell it tell me the surface drive has better hole shot. The surfacedrive is a hell of alot easier to drive.

I WOULD NOT BUY A SURFACE DRIVE WITHOUT POWER TRIM. DID I MENTION I WOULD NOT BUY A SURFACE DRIVE WITHOUT POWER TRIM.

I may hunt 1 man & a dog or up to 4 men. I NEVER HAVE THE TRIM SET IN ONE SPOT IN EITHER SITUATION. SO I WOULD NEVER BUY ONE WITHOUT A POWER TRIM.

I believe in have more power than I need and running half speed. I have never wish I had less power. We always buy bigger boats and get fatter.

I DON'T WANT TO FORGET TO MENTION NOT TO BUY A SURFACE DRIVE WITHOUT POWER TRIM.
