had a pretty good weekend hunt up in north louisiana, didn't kill anything but my brother in law (aka Shakes) had a great weekend. he seen deer every day on his stand while bow hunting but that is a whole another animal, killed this buck w/ his 270 wsm 4 & half year old 226 pound 7 pt.
Brooks with his squirrels on opening morning, if only we could have stayed a bit longer he probably would have limited out.
Gaige on his first duck & coon hunts, this is some of his many squirrels that he has already taken over his hunting trips.
Brooks killed his first deer on 11-15-08 on a cold morning hunt @ around 9:30 with a 243 at about 40 yards. This deer was one of the two that had come in on us that morning & he put a perfect shot on her. After the shot the deer had ran off , i call my buddy who was hunting nearby to tell him that brooks had shot one & before i knew it brooks had gotten out of the stand & was on the blood trail. I climb down to go met him & let him finish follow the blood trail to his trophy awesome.
Gaige 2nd deer on 12-13-06 doe shot with 243 @ about 20 yards, 3rd deer on 12-28-07 spike shot with 270 @ about 120 yards & his 4th deer & first deer by himself on stand on 11-15-08 shot with 270 @ about 110 yards. Great times!
This is my oldest son with his 1st. deer on 11-18-06 taken with 243 cal. @ 90 yards, remember it like it was yesterday. Great making memories w/ my kids & all of us were in the stand together to enjoy the show, priceless!
My little hunting buddy didn't make the morning hunt w/ me & his big brother but he made the most out of the afternoon hunt in Thistlewaite WMA for the youth hunt on 10-30-10, great day in the woods, wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else in the world, awesome job 1 shot thru the pumping station.
Went on a bow hunting trip w/ my cousin & friends. Arrowed 4 bucks & 4 does in illinois on public land in november. What a hunt to remember, 8pt 19 1/2'' inside speard & 10 pt 21'' inside speard.
Check these pic's out of this nice buck last rub. Just wonder how many good deer die f/ fighting, old age, preaditors, poaching, diease or wounded f/ hunting season each year. (Have any ideal)
Got this picture of a awesome buck from the King Ranch that got tangled up in a fence & broke his neck. This big dude is at the vet recovering from his injury. Heard that after his full recovery that he is going to be turned loose in 1 of Louisiana's WMAs. (Guess which one) Lets hope he pulls thru to live another season & by the way he is doing great. Good luck @ him next year.
HAD A NICE DAY ON THE WATER WITH A COUPLE FRIENDS FROM WORK. (1st. ANNUAL RIG 77B BOTTOM FEEDERS FISHING TRIP) PICTURED LEFT TO RIGHT (DANIEL, CHAD, HEATH, CATFISH, JEREMY & DARYL) HAD AND AWESOME TIME & A HEADACHE THE NEXT DAY, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. CAN'T DO THIS @ YOUR HOUSE SO GET OUTSIDE & ENJOY THE OUTDOORS & BRING A FRIEND.
There I was just sitting there eating a bag of zapp's craw tator (hot). That must be the secret scent. The bag kinda sounded like I was rattling antlers. Then I sneezed from all the pepper on the chips. He must have thought it was a snort weeze. (just kidding) Actually my buddies and I went on a hunt in southern Illinois and I killed this with my bow right at sunset. He only ran about 175 yards. Hit him in the heart. He is a ten piont, 213 lbs. 21" inside spread. What do you think this deer scores. This was the most exciting hunt I every been on.
