I recently ordered some calls from Gobbler Down Custom Calls and let me tell you, these things sound great. I have tried all kinds of different custom calls over the years, but these calls by far have more turkey in them than most. I personally prefer the exotic dancer and the call girl. Its nice to have a glass call and a slate call. I actually pulled a gobbler away from 7 hens this past Saturday while hunting in Alabama. My stepdad was able to kill his first turkey so that was pretty cool.

I recommend everyone take a look at these calls. Just passing some good information along as I think I have found a deadly turkey call.

Hello everyone. I have been lurking on this forum for a very long time now. Some good information to be had on here.

I am going surf fishing in Holly Beach,La 22-24 Aug. Was looking for some pointers for the area? I have been down before and caught one bull red. I was fishing Mae's beach. We will be staying at little florida beach. Any pointers you can give will be greatly appreciated. WOuld like to catch some big reds and some specks.

I will also have two big spinning reels I will put out for sharks. Anyone ever do any sharking in this area? If so any pointers for sharkign in this area or locations would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully someone will chime in and help a brother out.

Critter Taxidermy in Ringgold, LA. Ladies name that does the ducks is Sherri Williams. They have mounted about 10 deer for me, a turkey, hog, and 30+ ducks. 318-932-0065. They do an outstanding job on everything.

The Mistress brought in three Alabama Longbeards yesterday afternoon. My buddy and I left with two of these on our shoulders. Both birds were solid three year olds. I can't say enough about the quality, craftsmanship, and just plain turkey in Sean's calls from Gobbler Down Custom Calls.

Well two more fell to the Gobbler Down Calls this past weekend. These are definitely my favorite calls I have ever used.

I hunted Ga this past weekend and killed two birds. Wasn't a ton of gobbling and most birds were super henned up. I was had birds within 80 yards everyday I hunted but they wouldn't leave their hens. I just found two birds that wanted to play the game I guess. One bird was a pretty decent bird super heavy 9 3/4in beard, 1 3/16 spur and 1 1/8 spur and weighed 22lbs 3oz. Other bird was just a two year old. Will be back hunting Alabama this weekend. I aint gone give all the credit to my new gobbler down calls, but I do not necessarily think I would have killed these birds without these calls sounding so realistic.

I shot one like that this past season. Tons of blood for about 100 yards then drops then nothing. Turns out I shot the deer low in the shoulder. He was quartered away more than I thought and it clipped him low in shoulder and come out brisket. Got pics of him about a month after being shot. Glad he is a live but his shoulder is definitely infected.

Should be a pretty easy hunt if they stay on that routine. I currently live in Alabama and had 5 longbeards doing the same thing and once they started breaking up, I can hardly get a pic of a single bird. I did call one up for my stepdad this past Sun and it wasn't near where I was getting pics. They are super fired up here yet either. Her one bird gobble twice and another gobble once.
