Planing on a trip to Toledo Bend with the wife. Can anyone recommend cabin rentals that are clean, the lake, and have their own dock and landing?
Thanks

Ok, I know this is gonna spark some lively talking, but I need the info because I am cheap.

What it the best cranking battery I can get for my money?
Nothing seem to last very long anymore.

Best I ever had was a car battery, (gonna date my self now)came from Billups Gas Station in Plaquemine (circa 1974). That thing must have lasted 10 years. Used it in my car, and when the care died put in da boat. I know I ain't gonna find anything that good but one that would last more than 3 or 4 years would be great.

Anybody know of a bait shop that stocks grass shrimp (frozen or live) in the Port Allen, Brusly, Addis, Plaquemine area? I know it is early in the year but any ideas when the live ones will be available?
Thanks,

There is another nice public ramp about a mile further down from the ramp at the jail also. Jack Millers at the end of 77 is good too

Find a spot along the Mississippi River. For the big ones try fresh shrimp (medium) like you get from a seafood store.. Cut shad or slicker if you can find them. River is on the rise now so try at the base of the lever when the water is a few feet up it.

I was mainly speaking of the ones on the Port Allen side toward and below Plaquemine. Also, a bit further drive though, cross the bridge in Bayou Sorrel bridge and head back north. Once off the pavement there are good spots on both the spillway side of the levee as well of the Sorrel side. It butts up against Pat's Bay. If you got Google Earth, it will give you a good overview.

A comment titled: Ponds for Bass in response to a report titled: Baton Rouge Pond Fishing

There are some easy access areas along the Mississippi in the Baton Rouge area. When the river drops, the bar pits can become hotspots for some really big bass, sac-a-lait, and catfish. Some of these ponds are on private property. Most owners will let you fish the ponds as you don't leave your trash behind. They are normally the folks that live directly across the levee from the ponds or they will know who the owners are.
Best of luck!
