No mention of levees preventing replenishment from the Mississippi River, no mention of erosion. Typical fake news. We're trying to draw attention to this problem while CNN places the blame elsewhere. This misinformation obviously hurts our cause.
'Rising seas have swallowed more than 1,800 miles of coastline...'
I figured out how to enable video on my trail camera and got this vid from last week.
These guys are all nocturnal. Can't wait for the rut.
Big surprise when I checked my game cams for the first time this year. A nice black bear and a few decent young bucks. Located a few miles north of Simmesport.
Sunday afternoon my 10 year old son and I were in the stand, hadn't seen anything all day. Just at last light we heard a deer coming near the stand. We were at the intersection of two wide trails in the middle of 3-4 year old cutover, can't see anything if it isn't on one of the trails. I had 4 scent bombs with Tink's #1 around the stand.
The deer got close and trotted the last few yards, it had to be within 15-20 yds but we couldn't have seen it even if it was daylight. We could hear the deer stop and huff, it trotted a little more, huffed again and then walked off slowly in the direction it came from. The huffing was a hard blowing of air.
I'm thinkin it was responding to the scent, what do you guys make of it?
I'll be hunting in the Grangeville area (southwest corner of St Helena parish) this season. How has the deer harvest been in this area recently and what can I expect? I've seen pictures of some really nice deer in St Helena parish lately.
Where do I go for sac-a-lait Friday morning? I like to know of a hot spot within 2 hours of Denham Springs, La.
Thanks for any help
