Killed this buck on Dec. 10th cruising for does at 7:45am. First buck in over 15 yrs of deer hunting all over the southern U.S. that I am proud to put on the wall. Crazy to think that it came from the southern part of Louisiana marsh. You just never know when and where it will happen for you. Good hunting and Happy Holidays!!!!!!

Does anyone have any reports on the wax? Went there two weeks ago build a few blinds, but didn't go by the levee. I heard just today that they capped the levee with mud. Is this true? Also they had quit a few birds Eweeks ago, heard that for youth weekend it was scarce. Just looking for any reports, will be going regardless, this will make the 12 opening day we make. Sure can't miss one now.

Looking for someone to force fetch my lab. I have done the obedience, introduced him to the collar, and started force fetching him. With my work schedule I do not have the time to dedicate to him on an everyday basis like he deserves. If anyone has any suggestions or knows someone that may be interested, please let me know. wareagle985@yahoo.com
thanks...

Just looking for some feedback from anybody that may have had experience rigging up a three wheeler for the marsh. I was thinking of putting two extra tires on back, but people tell me to go with aluminum tires. Does anybody know were to get these aluminum tires, let me know please. Any input would be appreciated....

that is a great way to train beagles, rabbits don't run off and if they do they don't go far. it also makes a dog use their nose a lot more because they can't see the rabbit.

I believe the guys name is Brandon Curter, something like that. He is located in Ponchatoula. It is a pretty far run to his place, i am in cut off and it took me an hour an ten minutes. He has a 6 acre pen with wild rabbits that he starts pups with and only charges like 75 dollars a dog for how ever long it takes to get them started. He also does other training like collar and lesh, but i only did the start up. I was very impressed, he called me in 6 days that they were started. Got there early on a sat. morning, and we turned them loose. Within a couple of minutes they jumped and ran that rabbit around for about 10 minutes. Told him i had seen enough, took them home and they have been running on their own ever since. I do not have his number, but he does advertise every once in a while on the classifieds. May want to try to search, may be able to find him. Do you still have that guys number, would love to get a red and white on the next litter if possible.

Thanks, Lance

Just to let ya'll know i hunt the coast or below hwy 90 as many would say. We don't kill spoonbills and ringnecks. Getting back to the previous discusion, I was looking to fullfill a dream of mine and hunt flooded timber. Did a little research and felt CP point was the place to be to kill mallards. Looking at all the pictures on the web really motivates someone to book a trip their. But I have noticed that the same pictures that got me to go last year are the same onesthat are advertised today. I had a great time. the timber was beautiful, wondered where all the mallards were.

If you do not have the time, when he gets to about 6-7 months old, I would send him to a start up pen. I sent mine last year, one week at 7 months old, they just turned a year and are running rabbits with no problem. by the way, would love to know where you got him. Been tring to get a red and white for a while now, got a couple of black creeks.

I personnally had a terrible hunt. Myself and two buddies made a trip up to CP hunting lodge. Accomadations are nice, we had perfect weather(36 degreees, 10mph wind) and a beautiful setting in the cypress, but NO ducks!!! I guess i am pretty spoiled coming from south louisiana killing limits every morning, just wanted a experience of killing a few mallards in the timber. Hunted for four hours saw maybe 10 ducks, shot 6 shots(bwn 3 guys) killed 2 woodducks and 2 greyducks. Excellent guide in Roland Cortez, one of the best in the business. Plan and simple, just didn't see ducks like they advertise........
