Yeah, we are still alive here at Sweetwater. Sorry about the no reports the last couple of days. Sorry about the shrimp problems from Saturday. Good news is they have been catching a lot of fish. Especially speckled trout. Even better news...Mr. Ronnie caught a limit of trout today off the dock at Sweetwater. Trout are starting to show up all over the interior. If you catch 25 off Sweetwater dock, I'm pretty sure they are piling up all over the interior of Delacroix. I know I should have written something about our big fish report that was on the news with Capt. C.T.Williams tonight. We just watched Mr. Tony Puglia, Capt. C.T.Williams and Capt. Jack slinging in the trout. The show was aired on Tuesday of this week. Last Sunday Capt. jack went out and caught 70 something trout and 3-4 reds. The picture will be attached. If you are looking to get in on some actions, come down to Sweetwater and get in on some great fishing action. Call before you come and check on the live bait situation. We have been going out and trying hard to keep live shrimp. We are catching them, but it's just hard to keep them alive in the boat. We have some right now and are trying to keep them 24-7. But we don't want any customers not getting live bait. So, please call before you come. We do have lodging available, so call and book now. Dates are booking up. Call 504-342-2368 for lodging or charters. We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina.

We apologize for running out of live shrimp this morning. We will 100 percent have plenty of live shrimp and won't run out tomorrow! Thanks to all our understanding customers. We appreciate everyones business. And trust me...we don't ever enjoy running out of bait. We do everything possible to keep bait 24-7. Today we had hunters come in from real hunting...and what a change one day can make. Didn't see anyone with a limit, however everyone managed to shoot a few. As far as fishing, it was pretty decent. In just a few more weeks it will be ON. But it still isn't bad right now. If you go to the right spots, you can catch some nice reds and trout. Big trout are mostly on the outside. There are a lot of trout in little lake, but they are undersize. Also, reds are hot in the interior marshes of Delacroix. The fishing might not be totally on yet, but it is still worth the trip. Today was a beautiful day, and tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful too. So, don't miss out on the opportunity to spend your day on the water. Whether it's to hunt or fish, we can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater. Hope everyone had a great Saturday here at Sweetwater, and we look forward to sharing a wonderful Sunday with you guys.

What a unbelievable day of teal hunting out of sweetwater. Lots of limits came in. Way more than I would have expected for the amount of ducks I've seen in the last few weeks. It seems like most of the were shot close to the marina on the Delacroix side. Within 3-4 miles. As far as fishing, a decent amount of trout reports came in from fourhorse, bay lafouche and right around the outer edges. Same report from little lake..more undersized trout than keepers..but lots of them. So, fishing and the teal hunting seems to be pretty good in the delacroix area. We have rooms available during the week, one left for tomorrow night, a few left Sunday night and some available for next weekend. So, make your visit convenient and cozy....stay here at Sweetwater at our lodge. Should have plenty of live shrimp for tomorrow. Tomorrow and Sunday is supposed to be absolutely beautiful. On that note, you already know...we can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina.

Capt. Jack went out on a charter today. First one in a few weeks. They smacked 100 big, beautiful speckled trout. Some hotspots are all over the outside for the big trout. For reds..they are killing them on the interior. Some specific spots are lake batola, point fienne...saved the best for last....plenty, plenty speckled trout in little lake right now. That's right...little lake! The bad news is most of them are 10-11.5 inches. We will have plenty of live shrimp for tomorrow! So, come shoots some teal ducks, come in and grab live shrimp and then go catch some fish. This should be a really good weekend for fishing, so we can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina. We should be in for some pretty nice weather this weekend.. not 100 percent, so check the weather for yourself. We have one room left for this weekend. Call and book it now..504-342-2368. Come on down...can't wait to see all the smiling faces after returning with loads of fish.

Wow, what great weather we are having right now! That can only mean one thing. Good fishing is on its way. As far as the fishing right now, redfish seems to be the best fishing right now. We don't have a lot to write about, but the guys who have been going have been catching plenty reds. We launched one kayaker yesterday. Today we launched four. The kayak fisherman limited out on reds in about an hour right across from the Marina. Capt. Jack is fishing Thursday. It will be his first day out in a couple of weeks. We will keep you updated on what everyone catches tomorrow and Thursday. Good news is we have plenty of live shrimp. If you are looking to book some rooms for this winter, call soon because the weekend are pretty much booked almost. The weekdays are getting there. So, call soon. Delacroix is one of the very best places in the state for winter time fishing. We provide a lot of great services: lodging, awesome bait, fishing tips, charters, but most of all we really care for our customers. Without y'all we couldn't keep the doors open, so we are grateful for each customer. We try to do it all for each customer to keep y'all happy and coming back to us. The good news is we are just a few short weeks away from some fabulous trout and redfish fishing. So, don't forget to book your room or charter early. Don't forget to come see us here at Sweetwater, the Marina that loves their customers.

There are fish being caught in Delacroix. We had some really nice, big trout come in from the outside. There are plenty of reds on the interior. We launched a good bit of boats today out of Sweetwater. Thanks to all for baring with us in this tough time with our bait situation. We are hoping to have it fixed by this week. We will not have live bait or dead bait tomorrow. We do have Cocahoe minnows. Again, very sorry for the inconvenience. Please stop at Bait incorporated or Gulf Outlet Marina on Paris Road before coming down. We really appreciate all the customers that have still launched with us. Like I've already said, we are working on the bait problem. We do have lodging available for this upcoming week and next weekend. Please call 504-342-2368 to book. Also, we have charters available with the best captains around. Fishing is about to get REALLY good, so I suggest that you book rooms now! Think about hunting season chaos..don't wait! Overall, a pretty successful day of fishing down at Sweetwater Marina. There were lots of redfish today. A couple of boats had speckled trout. Trout fishing wasn't the best today. Most of the redfish caught were caught on spoons and spinner baits. So very sorry to all our customers for not having live shrimp today. We are working on that problem. Please bare with us. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be beautiful again. So, fishing tomorrow she be pretty good. Before you come on down..stop at Gulf Outlet Marina or bait incorporated for some live bait. We do have rooms left available for this upcoming week and weekend. So, if you are interested, please call 504-342-2368. You won't be sorry. Our lodging is in the most convenient locations. Can't get much better than right across from the marina. If you stay with us, you can launch your boat for free, park your truck and trailer underneath your room, leave your boat in the water next to our dock and will be ahead of the launching game. Our view from the lodge is beautiful, in the morning. The fishing is going to be getting really, really good soon enough...so, better call today to reserve your room. We book up quick, especially this time of year coming up. We do have charters available! Call to book with one of our amazing captains. They will take you out for a trip of a lifetime. If you are coming to Sweetwater this weekend, we are NOT going to have live shrimp. As far as the fishing, I'm not really sure what's going on. We had a few boats go out, but they aren't in yet. I will write a report later about the fish situation. If you are launching at Sweetwater, please stop and get bait elsewhere. Sorry for the inconvenience. To the few people that called and asked about live shrimp..I know I said we would have some, but our situation had changed with our shrimp guy. Hopefully Capt. Jack will have his boat in the water this week and keep us stocked with live shrimp at all times. I will have another report for you guys later. Hope to see you this weekend.

Hey guys! Haven't posted in a little while! There isn't much to write about for fishing due to the weather! However, it seems like fishing would be good for the weekend! Feels like this is the first weekend in a hundred years without rain. Fishing should be good due to the high water! It probably pushed reds and trout into the interior marshes! So, if you get an opportunity, wanna run the boat or go fishing...it seems like this weekend will be perfect for it! We do have some rooms available for the weekend! If interested, give us a call 504-342-2368! We would love to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves their customers! Hope everyone stays safe and dry! Praying for all affected by Harvey! 🙏🏻❤️

Overall, today was a decent day of fishing! They caught a good amount of fish today. However, the bad news is we won't have live shrimp for tomorrow. So sorry guys! Wow, what a busy day at Sweetwater today...9 boats..Of the 9 boats..one boat with two regulars went out past Stone Island a little ways and caught 50 some big hammer (trout)! Capt. Jack's friend Billy went out, and they had 21 trout and 6-7 reds! Some of the other customers that went out caught a few fish! Some people didn't catch any fish! I wouldn't say it was a bad, bad day....but...it is what it is in August! The water temperature is really hot in August, which makes the fishing a slight bit more difficult. Come stay at our lodge, take in the beautiful morning view..we have a great location for lodging in Delacroix...right across from the launch/marina (which carries everything you may need)! We have a few dates available...lodging is booking up quick, so call now if you want to book or check for availability (504-342-2368)! Also, if you need some pointers on how to get around Delacroix, along with tips on fishing, and you really want to catch fish...book a charter with Capt. Jack today! Capt. Jack is a wonderful captain...he has been in the business many, many, many years! He knows the waters, he is super friendly and funny, he is great with kids/ with anyone, he will have you on top of the fish, as well as helping you become a pro fisherman! So, book your charter now....all of our charter captains will have your returned to the dock with plenty of fish and new fishing knowledge! If you don't want to visit us for lodging, launching or a charter... then, visit to try out our food trailer! It is open each Friday, Saturday and Sunday! The food is absolutely delicious, the chef is absolutely great and the atmosphere is friendly and very welcoming! So, come see Chef Richy and let him whip you up a tasty meal! Today on Capt. Jack's charter...they left at 5:30am! They returned to Sweetwater at around 1pm! Today, the fishing seemed to be one of the toughest days in a little while! They ended up with 11 big beautiful speckled trout, 5 beautiful redfish, a couple sheephead, about 40 ladyfish, at least 5 Spanish Mackerel, a couple bullreds and what Jack thinks was a massive Jackfish...but they never did see it...it popped the line before almost pulling off all the line! Capt. Jack burned his finger trying to grab the line from the customer! :( Even though the day of fishing doesn't meet Capt. Jack's usual expectations, the customers were happy with the trip and what they caught...and that is all that matters! The weather was absolutely beautiful for fishing...who knows how the weather will really turn out on the days that call for rain! So, come on down and get in on some great times on the water, a little fishing challenge and make some memories...let us here at Sweetwater get that day started! We love to make things as easy, simple and great as possible for our wonderful customers! We do have some lodging available during the week and the weekend..so, call and book now before we book up! The rooms are booking up quickly! So, find your dates, get your group together and give us a call asap! (504-342-2368) We do have some charter dates available, as well! Capt. Jack and all of our captains would love to show you and your friends a great day out on the water! Each captain is great at what they do...they take you to the hottest of the hotspots, they'll teach you how to cast (if necessary), they will bait your line, they will have your laughing, catching fish and having a grand time all at once! You won't regret riding out with our captains on a guided charter...especially when your return with plenty of fish! Our captains will do everything needed to ensure you and your friends have a wonderful trip! If you can't fish, no problem! They'll have you fishing like a pro before the charter ends! All you will have to do is show up...the captains will take care of everything else! So, call and book now...to ensure that your fishing trip is successful! We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina...whether it's to buy live bait, launch at the marina, stay at our cozy/comfy/convenient lodge or to charter with one of our amazing captain! Hope to see you soon!

Remember we do have non-ethanol fuel, ice, tackle, live bait, dead bait, maps, gps chips, bugspray, sunscreen, drinks, snacks, oil and anything you might need for a great day on the water!
We also offer A+ service! We will launch your boat for you, park your vehicle, give you golf court rides to and from your vehicle, point you to all the hotspots and anything else you may need help with!
Also, don't forget about our food trailer! Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 5pm! We also do call in orders! So, if you would like to start doing that, please call 504-206-9588! We offer shrimp poboys, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers and gumbo, fries and drinks! It's absolutely delicious! So, come see Chef Ricky ASAP!

It's going to be hard to fish a place to tick in out of the wind this Saturday, maybe a few little spots directly across from the marina where you might be able to get out of the wind. And we should have live shrimp.

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your experience staying with us at Sweetater Marina. We value all of our customers and welcome their feedback. To that end Capt. Jack spent some time today going through the towels and checking the lights in the rooms to see if they need to be changed or could have higher watt bulbs in them and just generally checking all the rooms. We will also be making sure all rooms have an extra set of sheets, a blanket and a pillow in the drawers under the bunk beds. As for being pricey, we feel that our prices on shrimp and gas are competitive with other Marina's in the area and are more than fair. And we know it's a hike up the stairs, but since we were built after Katrina we had no choice. However, we do take issue with your claim that there was no sofa sleeper in your room. Rooms 2-5, we believe you were in room 5, absolutely all have a full size sofa sleeper (although Capt. Jack recommends just sleeping on ythe sofa though because the sofa bed is not very comfortable). Again, we appreciate your business and the feedback and are changing some things because of it and hope you will give us another try next time you are in Delacroix.

We have been hearing of a few caught here and there, but Capt. Jack hasn't caught any himself.

we would love to see you tomorrow morning at Sweetwater Marina. Capt. Jack will not be there until a little later tomorrow, but just ask for Mr. Ronnie. He will be able to point you in the right direction and put you on the fish. Hopefully Capt. Jack will be there when you get back. You picked a good time for your 1st Delacroix fishing trip. The fishing has been great this year. Good luck.

We are very sorry about your experience. Having all been in similar situations we would hope that rules would be bent and common sense employed. We also know our young staff understands how important customer service is to us at Sweetwater and we see them go above and beyond on a daily basis to make sure anyone launching at Sweetwater has a great experience. Capt. Jack has already made some phone calls and dscussed how to better handle this type of situattion in the future. As always, we appreciate any input from our customers, good and bad.

Capt.Jack just read this post and is very sorry that you got stuck and we were unable to help, but to be fair, Capt. Jack always goes the extra mile not only for his customers, but anyone who needs help. Just a couple of weeks ago he purchased bamboo, then in addition to the $ spent on the bamboo, spent an entire day with one of his employees to mark the channel to help keep folks from getting stuck. On one Saturday last month we had 5 people call who were stuck and wanted to get towed in. In almost all cases an airboat was needed, Jack couldn't get to them even if he had been here. That day and on many other days we spend countless time on the phone with the St. Bernard Sheriff, Coast Guard and Sea Tow. We made sure everyone made it in even though Jack couldn't help them himself. And please keep in mind that Capt. Jack is not always here. Running a Marina entails much more than sitting in the bait shop helping launch boats. We appreciate everyone who defended Sweetwater And Capt. Jack. We love our customers, ya'll are great. We are also in full agreement about Sea Tow. BECOME A MEMBER. We are also truly sorry for this anglers experience, while we try to make everyone's experience down here in Delacroix a good one (even if you don't launch here), unfortunately you can't please everyone. That goes for any business and life in general.

A comment titled: Captain Jack - Sweetwater Marina in response to a report titled: !!!!BEWARE OF SERINGE'S LAUNCH!!!!!

Capt. Jack doesn't have a feud with anyone and has always been willing to work with and be helpful to anyone and everyone he meets. Those of you who are regulars at Sweetwater and have met Jack know this already. He is working very hard to get his shrimp boat up and running and to get fuel put in to make his business better, not to put anyone out of business. Once he has live bait and fuel on a regular basis it will be available to anyone, no matter where they launch. His goal is not and has never been to put anyone out of business. Anyone who fishes Delacroix regularly knows there is plenty of business to go around.

Thanks Spec hound. Captain Jack couldn't get them today though. He went out with Captain C.T. for a fish and game report. They tried for trout, on top and bottom, they did not bite today. He said they caught a few here and there. They limited out on Reds in Oak River. Reds arejust as good as tey have been.

Unfortunately we will be out of live shrimp this weekend. Captain Jack suggests getting your shrimp at Gulf Outlet Marina or Bait Inc. before you head out here to Delacroix.
