Here is a report from this Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday! Capt. Jack went out Friday and Saturday...came back with limits of beautiful red fish...some really beautiful red fish Saturday! Three days of red fish (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)...probably boated, at least, 150 red fish!....of course, he only kept his limit...25 each day! Some pretty awesome red fishing! Reports from our customers...Thursday-Sunday...lots of hit and misses! Honestly, can say the best trout fishing came from the Lake Robin area, some in Four horse and Round Lake! One of our customers fished on the outside and caught 105 2-5Ib trout...no exaggeration...some 24-25 inches...haven't seen those in a while! As far as yesterday and today..reports weren't so good! Charter guides went out and caught limits of reds...customers caught a few here and there..but we only launched a few boats each day...so, who really knows...there were no regulars out! So, one good thing to report...the weather is looking better and better for the weekend! We are having Rick's Cabaret Fishing tournament this weekend! Awesome payouts! They are paying back 80% of all proceeds to winning anglers....$2500 for 1st place speckled trout...$2500 1st place red fish....other 20 % goes to wish to fish organization...kayaks are welcome..there will be goodie bags...and live music Friday night...free beer and spirits...award ceremony held at Rick's Cabaret on Saturday night! So, if you are interested in fishing...come on down....whether or not you are fishing the tournament...should be some pretty good weather! We have plenty of live shrimp! We have the E- cards from Grand Isle to Mississippi...for a special price....$175...that's a bargain! These chips have the easiest routes highlighted in red and yellow colors...and we have plenty of new standard Delacroix map.... Tido's Vodka tournament is here at Sweetwater on the 23rd and 24th of June....so, come pick up a map or e-card and win the tournament! Can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina!

Great fishing here the last few days at Sweetwater Marina, even with the windy conditions! Captain Jack fished Monday with his buddy Larry Kullman, and they had 20 reds and about 15 trout! Yesterday, Captain Jack fished, in the evening, and had another 10 reds! Today, Capt. Jack fish with his buddy Brent and Chip from Florida and Georgia.. and the kids..they caught around 25 reds..released probably 25-30 more...and 4-5 nice bass...it was a trip of a lifetime! Lots of people came in with plenty of fish today...reds, trout, black drum, sheephead, bass, and bullreds! The next few days the fishing should be unbelievably good! It is going to be a busy weekend down at Sweetwater Marina! The weather is going to be beautiful...some of the best weather we had in a while....the tide ranges are looking good....so, get the fishing poles ready...it's time to catch fish! We have plenty of live shrimp...that has been the ticket for Capt. Jack on his last few trips! So...all that being said....can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina!

Quick little update from Sweetwater. Overall, fishing today was pretty decent! Our regulars caught good amounts of fish! There were a couple good reports on trout in the interior of Delacroix. The guys that left out of Sweetwater and went to the rocks did well on speckled trout; they caught limits. The guys fishing in the interior of Delacroix..some did good on trout...but like I said...most people had decent amounts of fish...lots of reds! Capt. Chris fished for us today, and they had a limit of beautiful redfish! Yesterday, Capt. jack took out a group, and they caught 21 reds, 4 black drum, about 10-12 trout and a couple green bass! Not sure what the weather is going to be like tomorrow..but, if you want to have some good fun, come down to Sweetwater and get in on some of the action!

Don't forget about our food trailer that is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday...serving some delicious pulled pork sandwiches, shrimp poboys, hamburgers, gumbo and wings! You will not regret having lunch at Sweetwater!! So, come see Chef Richy for a mouthwateringly great lunch!

Good evening from Sweetwater Marina!

Finally, a great day of fishing down at Sweetwater! Maybe...because there wasn't any wind and perfect weather! Lots of fish caught over in Lake Campo! Good amounts of speckled trout came in from Bay Lafouche and Campo. In the interior marshes of Delacroix, plenty of good size redfish were caught. Very few people didn't have much luck...however, most people did pretty spectacular! If you want to have some fun tomorrow, I would advise you to come down to Sweetwater...it should be a pretty good day of fishing! We have plenty of live bait! So, get her early and get in on some of the fishing! Saturday should be pretty good fishing, as well! We will have a report tomorrow to let everyone know how the fishing went! Hope to see you tomorrow, so we can write about you!

All their reds today were caught on live shrimp! Winds are strong, but it seems like the fish are still biting! A few customers came in with a good amount of speckled trout..we couldn't get where they went out of them...however, we think it was around Fourhorse area! Not a lot of action at Sweetwater! Maybe about 15 people launched today! But believe or not, overall, the fishing was pretty good! A lot of speckled trout were caught in Lake Campo....that seemed like the hottest area! They caught some in fourhorse, as well! They have been having some bird activity, if you like to fetch under the birds! Some of the guys caught limits of redfish this morning, before the bad weather! Basically, what we are getting at is......the fishing is pretty dang good! Especially today, considering the weather conditions today weren't to great...which limited the amount of time they had to fish! So, grab your Momma and take her on a spectacular fishing trip for Mother's Day! No better present than being able to enjoy a beautiful day on the water AND catch plenty of big, beautiful fish! The weather looks likes it's going to be beautiful for the next two days! Finally, some great weather for some awesome fishing...it should make for a magnificent Mother's Day weekend!
Hope to see you soon!

Another amazing day of fishing out of Sweetwater! Tons of trout brought in from the inside, outside, you name a spot, and they're catching there! Almost all the fish are being caught on live shrimp! Some are catching them on plastic, as well! Today, Capt. jack went out on a charter and came back in with 102 trout, 9 reds and 4 sheepshead! Fishing seems to be getting better everyday! If you like to catch reds, No problem! They are smashing them all over the interior of Delacroix! Not just one spot, but they are catching them literally all over! Some guys have been catching their limit, and then, catching 40 or so more and throwing them back! Delacroix is one of the greatest spots left in our great state with a little interior marsh land left...and it holds a variety of different species of fish...And lots of them! We had 3 or 4 newbys come today and totally destroy the fish! If you don't like to get up early, no problem! Come fish under the birds in the afternoon! However, there are plenty of fish being caught both in the morning and the afternoon! Seems like fishing under the birds goes a little better in the afternoon than the morning hours! We have been having plenty of live shrimp! So, if you feel the urge to come and get on some good speckled trout fishing and have never been to Delacroix, come on down! There are plenty of spots to get to easily, where they are catching loads of fish! If you are a kayaker, launch right here at Sweetwater and be conveniently close to some awesome speckled trout, bass, redfish, black drum, and sheephead fishing! A little bit of everything can be caught near the Marina! However, kayaker launching fee is 10 dollars per kayak! So, beware! Don't come, if you are going to complain about pricing! You can fish 2 hours, 24 or 48...we don't care...it's only 10 dollars...that's a bargain! Good news...if it is a two seater kayak, it is still only ten dollars! So, quit reading about it and get it done! Come on down and experience it for yourself!

Sorry we haven't written anything lately! Captain jack went out on a charter yesterday,'. It wasn't that great due to the wind! 7 reds, 5 trout and they were in for 11:30am! The wind was just out of control. Today Capt. Jack went out on a charter today, and there was a huge improvement! They caught 75 big, beautiful trout, 1 bullred that made someone's whole fishing trip and 2 sheepshead! Today lots of people came in with fish! Mega numbers of redfish, a good number of speckled trout and even a few drum! Very, very sorry for the people that weren't able to get live shrimp today! Due to the weather...the shrimper wasn't able to go get a load of shrimp for us! But the great news is.... we have a lot of live shrimp for tomorrow! If you get an opportunity and want to get on some fish, come on down! It gets better everyday! Unless there is 25-40 mph west northwest wind, then Capt. Jack says he doesn't care who you are it is pretty impossible to catch fish in those conditions! However, that seems to be over with, so come test out the fishing! The trout fishing seems to be pretty darn good and getting better! When you come, don't forget to come try our very successful food trailer! People are saying they can't wait to come back and eat with us again! Let Chef Richy whip you up a fresh hamburger, pulled pork sandwich or shrimp poboy...you won't regret it! It's absolutely delicious! Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Also, don't forget to call and book and stay at our lodge! We have the most convenient location, the most comfy rooms and great prices! Add on a charter with one of our fine captains and let them take you on a guided fishing adventure....you'll catch beautiful fish, make memories you can't forget and have a grand time! So, choose Sweetwater Marina! We have outstanding services! We help launch the boat, give great tips on where to fish, sell ice, live bait, non-ethanol fuel, food from our food trailer (on the weekend), we clean and package your fish, offer rides on our golf court to and from your vehicle and so much more! Don't pass up the great experience you can have, when you come to Sweetwater! We appreciate all of our loyal customers! We can't thank y'all enough...without y'all we couldn't keep the doors open! Your money helps keep food on the table for 5 of our great employees! We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina..and don't forget to pick up some Sweetwater merchandise (shirts, sweaters, coozies, hats)! Rep the best marina around! ☺️

Today was some of the best speckled trout fishing seen, in a while! Lots and lots of beautiful speckled trout came in today! Some trout that came in from Black Bay were 3-4 Ib's. Trout were coming in from the inside, the outside, all over! As far as redfish, where do we begin? Everyone that targeted them, caught them! As far as Black Bay being a Black Bay...it's not! It's brown bay..but the trout were still biting! Customers said they had to pop, but they were still there! If you are ready to get in on some of this action, come on down to Sweetwater. It's going to be hard to fish a place to tick in out of the wind this Saturday, maybe a few little spots directly across from the marina where you might be able to get out of the wind. And we should have live shrimp.

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your experience staying with us at Sweetater Marina. We value all of our customers and welcome their feedback. To that end Capt. Jack spent some time today going through the towels and checking the lights in the rooms to see if they need to be changed or could have higher watt bulbs in them and just generally checking all the rooms. We will also be making sure all rooms have an extra set of sheets, a blanket and a pillow in the drawers under the bunk beds. As for being pricey, we feel that our prices on shrimp and gas are competitive with other Marina's in the area and are more than fair. And we know it's a hike up the stairs, but since we were built after Katrina we had no choice. However, we do take issue with your claim that there was no sofa sleeper in your room. Rooms 2-5, we believe you were in room 5, absolutely all have a full size sofa sleeper (although Capt. Jack recommends just sleeping on ythe sofa though because the sofa bed is not very comfortable). Again, we appreciate your business and the feedback and are changing some things because of it and hope you will give us another try next time you are in Delacroix.

We have been hearing of a few caught here and there, but Capt. Jack hasn't caught any himself.

we would love to see you tomorrow morning at Sweetwater Marina. Capt. Jack will not be there until a little later tomorrow, but just ask for Mr. Ronnie. He will be able to point you in the right direction and put you on the fish. Hopefully Capt. Jack will be there when you get back. You picked a good time for your 1st Delacroix fishing trip. The fishing has been great this year. Good luck.

We are very sorry about your experience. Having all been in similar situations we would hope that rules would be bent and common sense employed. We also know our young staff understands how important customer service is to us at Sweetwater and we see them go above and beyond on a daily basis to make sure anyone launching at Sweetwater has a great experience. Capt. Jack has already made some phone calls and dscussed how to better handle this type of situattion in the future. As always, we appreciate any input from our customers, good and bad.

Capt.Jack just read this post and is very sorry that you got stuck and we were unable to help, but to be fair, Capt. Jack always goes the extra mile not only for his customers, but anyone who needs help. Just a couple of weeks ago he purchased bamboo, then in addition to the $ spent on the bamboo, spent an entire day with one of his employees to mark the channel to help keep folks from getting stuck. On one Saturday last month we had 5 people call who were stuck and wanted to get towed in. In almost all cases an airboat was needed, Jack couldn't get to them even if he had been here. That day and on many other days we spend countless time on the phone with the St. Bernard Sheriff, Coast Guard and Sea Tow. We made sure everyone made it in even though Jack couldn't help them himself. And please keep in mind that Capt. Jack is not always here. Running a Marina entails much more than sitting in the bait shop helping launch boats. We appreciate everyone who defended Sweetwater And Capt. Jack. We love our customers, ya'll are great. We are also in full agreement about Sea Tow. BECOME A MEMBER. We are also truly sorry for this anglers experience, while we try to make everyone's experience down here in Delacroix a good one (even if you don't launch here), unfortunately you can't please everyone. That goes for any business and life in general.

A comment titled: Captain Jack - Sweetwater Marina in response to a report titled: !!!!BEWARE OF SERINGE'S LAUNCH!!!!!

Capt. Jack doesn't have a feud with anyone and has always been willing to work with and be helpful to anyone and everyone he meets. Those of you who are regulars at Sweetwater and have met Jack know this already. He is working very hard to get his shrimp boat up and running and to get fuel put in to make his business better, not to put anyone out of business. Once he has live bait and fuel on a regular basis it will be available to anyone, no matter where they launch. His goal is not and has never been to put anyone out of business. Anyone who fishes Delacroix regularly knows there is plenty of business to go around.

Thanks Spec hound. Captain Jack couldn't get them today though. He went out with Captain C.T. for a fish and game report. They tried for trout, on top and bottom, they did not bite today. He said they caught a few here and there. They limited out on Reds in Oak River. Reds arejust as good as tey have been.

Unfortunately we will be out of live shrimp this weekend. Captain Jack suggests getting your shrimp at Gulf Outlet Marina or Bait Inc. before you head out here to Delacroix.
