Who dat baby🖤💛🏈...boy was that a heart breaker yesterday or what?!?💔😢 But..We played tough and hard. Captain Jack says he can't wait for next year. As far as the Marina business, it's been sucking this winter due to the weather. The redfishing has been pretty good. However, the trout fishing hasn't been to good since Captain Jack & I (Sierra) went out this past Thursday. This has been one of the craziest and coldest winters Captain Jack says he can remember. ❄️🌨We are waiting for the thaw to come🌥⛅️🌤☀️, so the trout 🐟 will go back to biting. The trout are there; they are just laid on the bottom getting leech bites. Sorry about the no live shrimp. That's about to change here in the next week. Like we said before our shrimper is getting his other motor put on his boat (his other one broke) (then he got the flu 🤧😷). So, he should be back at it by next week 🦐. Not that the live shrimp would've done us much good, because the water is too cold for the trout to bite. I'm sure the weather will break, the water will warm back up and things will get good again. This time of the year...Delacroix is known for its fantastic trout fishing..just waiting on the weather to cooperate and go back to normal. Everyone pray 🙏🏻 let it warm back up, so we can fish, fish, fish! It's suppose to warm up to 74 Sunday...so maybe we can all make it out then. We do have boat sheds available. Call to ask questions or reserve one 504-342-2368. When we have one open, it doesn't last long. We only have a few that people rotate in and out of. Most of our boat shed customers are long term. They each have water and electricity going to them. Once they are gone..they are gone. Book now! Also, our lodging has some openings. But you know how it goes...it books quick, when the weather is its normal self! If you need specific dates, don't wait to reserve your room. Here at Sweetwater we keep it professional, safe, clean and comfortable for all of our guest. You have your own privacy. Capt. Jack made a quick fishing trip today and talked to a lot of our customers that came in. Capt. Jack fished with his good friends Freddy Wirstrom and Dennis Galeas. They ended up with around 21 trout. They fished from about 2:30pm until dark. Most customers had a few reds. One guy returned with 25 trout from Point Fienne. They had a couple people return with good numbers of trout today. The highest number being 40...that we know of anyways. Tomorrow should be way better than today; the water should warm up a bit more. If you have a chance to come, I would suggest coming tomorrow. Over the weekend, it's going to go back to being bone chillingly cold again....😒 So....if you are looking for some action, it looks like tomorrow is your last chance..before it goes to crap again. Hopefully, in the near future....when it warms up again, the trout fishing should be great. There are a lot of trout still on the interior of Delacroix...however, the weather isn't giving us fair opportunity to get on them. We have some other good news...we have a couple boat sheds available for rent...just in time for late winter and early spring fishing...all we need is the weather to warm up..the speckled trout are there. Call now. We don't have boat sheds open up often or for very long. So, if interested, call 504-342-2368. Have your boat, conveniently, stored right here at Sweetwater...no more hauling it back and forth...no more taking up space you could be using for something else. Each boat shed has water and electricity to it. If you keep your boat stored here at Sweetwater, your launch is free. Also..if you need certain dates for lodging or charters, you should call and book asap. You don't want to miss out on the dates you are looking for. One good thing about the cold weather this weekend...the duck hunting should be way better than it has been. Capt. Jack has been talking to a few hunters here in Delacroix that say hunting has been better for them. Seems to be a lot of green wing teal. That all being said..if you are a fisherman, hope to see you tomorrow...if you are a duck hunter, hope to see you this weekend. Either way...we can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves, cares for and appreciates their customers.

Don't forget that our guys do offer the best fish cleaning service around! They will have your fish cleaned super speedy, yet with great quality! Yes we are still alive here at Sweetwater. We haven't frozen to death. There just hasn't been enough to write about. A lot of redfish came in today, of course. Only a few handfuls of trout. The good news is..everything is warming up..weather, people, fish..etc. tomorrow's action should be better than today. The air temp went up to 53 down here in Delacroix..The water temp is prob still 42-43. If you want to get in on some action before the saints game tomorrow, come on down. Sorry but we will not have live shrimp for tomorrow...our shrimper is putting a new motor on his boat..it prob won't be until Monday or Tuesday until we get live shrimp...Possibly tomorrow. We do have plenty of dead. We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina...see ya tomorrow!

Welcome 2018! Happy new year everyone! Here's our first post of the new year. And boy is it cold or what?!? Today, on New Years, we launched 2 crazy duck hunters. Not sure if they shot anything, because we weren't there. The water is extremely low..and unfortunately....it gonna get lower, lower and then REAL REAL REAL LOW! If you like to catch redfish, it's like stealing them right now. People were on side the Delacroix road killing the reds...everyone that we passed had a red on the line...reeling them in back to back. Kinda feel bad for the reds. However, we know it was thrilling for all the customers that never really get to catch off the side of the road. To the customers with boats..when the winds lay down, I would suggest heading to Oak river...bet you can slay the reds in there. We will keep in touch and keep everyone updated. If you have trout on the brain, you might as well stay home. If you want some reds or drum, come on down. Also, we do have a boat shed available. Please call 504-342-2368 to book it now. You can call to get more info or message us on Facebook. We do have some lodging available in 2018..so, call and book your dates NOW to ensure you get them. We do have charter dates available..for those looking for a guaranteed great fishing experience down in Delacroix. Call 504-342-2368 for any of your lodging, charter or Marina needs. Also, here is a little tip..if you haven't already, I would suggest getting a sea tow membership to start off this year. We are NOT a towing service...if you launched from Sweetwater and break down or get stuck, we do not send people out to get you. We do not provide those services. However, for $169 per year...you can ensure there will be someone to rescue you, in case you break down. Remember...if you aren't a member, they charge 1200-1500 to come get you. We WILL not be providing these services. We never have. We have helped a few that were really desperate, but Capt. Jack's job does not require coming to your rescue. We are sorry to sound harsh...but...we are trying to warn you guys. Seatow is a great investment to ensure you always have someone to call, when broken down on the water...and if you become a member, it won't cost you an arm and a leg to be rescued. Just think about it. I'm sure some of you will read this and still not become a member of Seatow..remember..when you break down, if you do, don't call Sweetwater. We are not a towing service, we don't run people fuel, nothing like that. Sorry. They being said..go get the membership...be safe this 2018..not sorry. Like we said before..welcome 2018....thanks to all of our customers that have gotten us to 2018 with success! We appreciate your business. We want to wish each of you a happy new year..full of happiness and health...remember to eat your cabbage and peas. And remember...We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina!

Not an overwhelming amount of good news today, but there was still a little. A few boats came in today with limits of speckled trout. It seemed like it was more of a redfish day. Overall, everyone caught some fish. On a scale from 1-10..I'd rate the day about a 6 (10 being at its best). As far as the weather, I'm not sure what it will be doing tomorrow. However, if you get an opportunity, come on down. We will have plenty of shrimp for everyone. Tomorrow may be the absolute last chance to get out before extreme weather comes, unless you want to endure it..that's up to you. We know there are a few fishing die hards. If we see ya we see ya...otherwise, wrap up and get ready to cheer on the tigers!! Enjoy the beginning of the new year, and we will see you during the end of next week..if not..definitely next weekend. Also, we do have one boat shed becoming available in January. Call now to ensure you get it. Again..happy new year from Captain Jack and the Sweetwater crew! 🎆

A little sunshine went a long ways today. The fish got to biting better. The water went up a couple of degrees to 54 or 55, and it seemed to make a big difference. If you want to get in on the great action, tomorrow is the last window of opportunity before the weather goes back to being wacky. Capt. Jack's charter ended up with 40 speckled trout, which were all caught on the bottom in Oak River. They were caught on live shrimp, and we have plenty for tomorrow. The water should warm up a little more, the fish should be hungry (from not eating the last few days during the crazy weather) so all we need is...you. Come on down! We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves their customers.

Captain jack fished the last two days. The weather has been pretty extreme. Yesterday, they caught 9 sheepshead and 6 trout in forty mph winds and 40 degree temperatures. Today, they caught 4 keeper reds, threw back at least 30 undersized reds and 2 freshwater cats. Tomorrow he will be taking the same group he took today for another to at it. Tomorrow is looking a lot better. We will have sunshine, and it should warm up to 58 degrees. The water temperature right now is around 54 degrees, so tomorrow and Saturday fishing should be way better. The tide range is on the up swing right now. The water isn't low at all..it's at normal heights. If you are looking to have some fun, come on down to Sweetwater. The next two days should be better than the past couple of days. We have plenty of live shrimp, dead shrimp and anything you may need for a great day of fishing. Sad news...we have shut down our food trailer. We had excellent food..just not enough money being made. We will be selling the food trailer and making two more boat sheds where the food trailer now sits. Call us if interested in purchasing the food trailer. Also, we do have one boat shed opening up in January. If interested, please call 504-342-2368. Thanks. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is ready for a happy new year. Come spend it down in Delacroix and launch at Sweetwater. 🎆

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! We hope everyone is having a happy holiday! As far as the fishing, it has been pretty good up until this windy weather. Yesterday, a few went out and caught some in the morning. They seemed to succeed with speckled trout in the morning. Today..we were not open, so we aren't sure how it went. We are thinking it was probably slow because of the wind. They should be biting good tomorrow..after all this cool weather..and it's looking like it won't be windy. Only bad news is the weather is suppose to get messed up from tomorrow evening throughout the week. If you can make it before it rains, I would advise coming down. Should have lots of live bait for tomorrow. We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater. Start off the new year with a fishing trip in Delacroix. There is no better way to kick start the year than with some great fishing fun. If you are looking for a charter or lodging, please call 504-342-2368 starting tomorrow. Busy day here at Sweetwater Marina! Lots and lots of fish came in today. It wasn't the absolute most stellar day that we have seen, but it was definitely a good day. Many limits came in today! Fish cleaning was off the chart. Tons of fish were being cleaned on our docks! Even Captain Jack was out on the dock cleaning over 200 speckled trout and 33 reds for some customers! Jesse and Rob cleaned unbelievable numbers of fish today. We go above and beyond to keep our customers happy and have their fish cleaned by professionals. As far as tomorrow, the fishing should be just as great as today. If you get the opportunity to come Friday or Saturday, we suggest you get here! We are planning on being open on Christmas Eve, until around 10am. If you are planning on making a trip on Christmas Eve, come get your bait and more before 10am. We will be closed on Christmas, which is Monday, December 25th. We do hope that you have a Merry Christmas. During this holiday break, come make a fishing trip with the fam or friends. No better way to bond than on the water..fishing..and catching at that. Good news..we have plenty beautiful live shrimp. Live bait won't be an issue. The fog lifted at around 8am today. They are predicting fog for tomorrow as well. If you can properly read your gps, you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't feel safe leaving in the fog, wait and come a little bit later. The fish are here..no matter what time you come. As far as the hotspots, Little Lake, Grand Lake, Lake Batola, Pointe Fienne and all the other usual winter time hotspots are producing fish. Hope to see you down here asap, so you can get in on the action. We will have an updated report tomorrow. Can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina. The pictures below are of some of our customers..today..here at Sweetwater Marina, the Marina that loves their customers. The guy in the yellow shirt is Captain Jack's friend Freddy. Freddy caught the fish in the picture out of a kayak today. He didn't go far. Just goes to show you..the fish aren't too far and they are biting.

UNBELIEVABLY good fishing today! Capt. Jack went out today..it's been around two and a half weeks, since he went last. He took his buddy Kent Saxon with Gator Trax boats and his friends (the MudbuMs) from Iowa. They did a fishing show with the MudbuMs...and boy did they put on a show! They caught black drum, tons of speckled trout, freshwater cats, a big fat gar fish and some reds! It was just a great fishing show all around! You couldn't ask for better action for a fishing show! The best part of it was that all the MudbuM guys were super great, down to earth, real country boys! This fog is out of control crazy..but if you can handle your electronics in your boat and make it to your fav hotspot...it is so well worth it! Everyone that came back in today caught loads of fish! The tide range is good; we had people call and ask about that. Also, water levels are normal. The only thing sucking right now...is like we said..the fog. Water clarity is nice. We have plenty of beautiful, live shrimp. We do have lodging availability, if interested. Also, book a charter..today...what a great Christmas gift to the guys in your life. Call now to ensure your date! If you can make it down, fishing is absolutely awesome right now! So, get here now! We can't wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina! And happy holidays!

Don't forget that our guys do offer the best fish cleaning service around! They will have your fish cleaned super speedy, yet with great quality! So, see the guys after a long day of fishing...relax, while the guys take care of cleaning your catch! I know they appreciate the customers that let them clean their fish, as do we!

Launched about twenty boats here at Sweetwater today. Some were back as early as 9:15 with limits of speckled trout. Most of them caught in Lake Batola. Also, Little Crevasse off of Oak River seems to be doing good and the twin pipe line close to Lake John...fishing on the bottom. Here's the news everyone has been waiting for..if you want to catch fish and close, Little Lake is hot. We have plenty beautiful, beautiful live shrimp for the weekend. So come on down and get in on some of the action...you won't regret it! Can't wait to see ya here at Sweetwater Marina.

Yes, we are still alive here at Sweetwater. Unfortunately, just not a lot of great things to talk about due to the weather last week. Good news is..we talked to some customers today and the fishing seemed to have picked up tremendously. Of course it did...the water warmed back up and came up a bit too. The only bad news is that tomorrow we are supposed to have another front come through...however, it won't be a major one. The temperatures should just be a little cooler. It shouldn't really mess with the fishing. Fishing on Saturday should be even better. Not sure what time the weather will be coming through...But I would say, if you get the opportunity to come tomorrow, come. We heard one of the hotspots today was lake Batola. If you like to catch reds, one of the hotspots were all the drains off of oak river..they seem to be producing lots of redfish. It's worth coming...so, if you can make the trip, come on down! We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina. Next week we are supposed to have warmer weather..starting after the weather Sunday. We should be back in the 70's next week...so, fishing should be great! And remember...we do have lodging and charters. Call for specific dates. We have comfy lodging...conveniently located right across from the Marina. And we can set you up with the best captains in Delacroix on charters that will leave you extremely satisfied..with the best fishing Delacroix has to offer. Sweetwater Marina only offers A-1 service for all of our amazing customers. Can't wait to see ya and...happy holidays from all of us here at Sweetwater!..don't forget that a stay at sweetwater or a charter with one of our captains would be the perfect Christmas gift for the guys in your life!

Very busy day down here at Sweetwater, once again. Unbelievable amounts of happy people with mega amounts of speckled trout. Tomorrow should be even better than today because of the tide range. Sunday should be even better than tomorrow because of the same thing. The weather is looking absolutely spectacular, so there is no excuse. Take someone that hasn't been before..impress them with fishing in Delacroix during the best time of the year. Put some fish in the freezer. Plenty of live shrimp for everyone tomorrow. Remember..it's going to be a busy day..so, pay your boat launch before you get it in the water..and grab your launching ticket for your dashboard BEFORE launching or parking. Coming down in the morning...stay on your side of the road..try to pull a few feet over onto the shoulder of the road....it's disrespectful to keep your trailer in the middle of the road so others can't get around and keep traffic flowing...god forbid an ambulance, fire truck or emergency vehicle comes and needs to get by. So, stay as far to your side of the road as possible, let people get by and be respectful of one another. Next issue..don't pull up on your fellow anglers, when they are in a spot...be courteous. There is plenty fish for everyone. As far as hotspots today...people probably think we are lying, when we say that fish are being caught everywhere. Pretty much all regulars are catching. The newbys are mostly all doing great, as well..very few are having trouble bringing in fish. See you guys in the morning. And remember we do appreciate each of you..without you we couldn't keep the doors here at Sweetwater open. We all work hard here at Sweetwater to keep the customers happy. Can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina.

Don't forget that our guys do offer the best fish cleaning service around! They will have your fish cleaned super speedy, yet with great quality! Today was some of the best fishing we've seen down at the Marina. Some of the biggest trout were caught today. Tomorrow through the weekend will be some of the best fishing weather that we have had all year. Temperature will be 10 degrees cooler than it's been lately, with tide ranges that look good
..everything lined up for great fishing. So, get the boat packed now and get it ready for Saturday or Sunday. Basically...we are saying..come on down and get in on the action NOW! We have some openings here at Sweetwater. Of course, booked up this Friday and Saturday. However, if you are looking for any other dates, please call 504-342-2368. If we are booked, we can recommend The Delacroix Lodge...they are A-1 just like us. Looking for a guided fishing trip with a great captain? Here at Sweetwater we only work with the best captains in Delacroix. So, call now! Don't miss out on the best time of the year. We can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina. Remember..all these fish cleaners you see out on their own now....were trained right here at Sweetwater Marina. They couldn't even clean a fish, until they met Captain Jack. We had to cut them from Sweetwater...for so many reasons (also reasons we recommend you don't use them). However, we still offer the most skilled, professional fish cleaning service in Delacroix. Right here at Sweetwater..you only get the best. Also, Chef RICHIE 😉 will cook up your cleaned fish for you. Sweetwater doesn't allow foolishness around here any longer. We no longer tolerate less than professional employees and are thriving. Feels refreshing to know we are surrounded by trustworthy people here at Sweetwater..Finally. After having to sort through the.....you know what I'm saying. 😉 anyways...what we are really saying is..unless you are looking for less than A-1 service..don't stray from Sweetwater's fish cleaning... We trained these 'fishcleaners' that are now astray...so, they can clean a fish...but our fishcleaners here at Sweetwater are just as good..if not better....and we keep it classy and professional. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend! 😊

Another pretty busy day at Sweetwater. We had many different reports today, including Captain Jacks report with Capt. CT Williams. They had a pretty good fishing trip today. Returning with around 30 trout, 7 really nice reds, a hybrid bass, some real bass and some from freshwater cats. Overall, we had some good and bad reports. For them it was a pretty good trip. Good news is..we have plenty of live shrimp for everyone. The weather looks like it's going to be very cooperative this week for fishing. So, while the fishing is good, come on down and get in on the action. Get some fish to put in the freezer, while it's good. We do have some availability left in lodging and some opening for charters. Call and book your dates, before we book up. 504-342-2368. This is the most special time of the year..and we are not talking about the Christmas season, which is sneaking up on us..we are talking about how really outstanding the fishing is during this time of the year. The past two days have been crazy at Sweetwater. When I say crazy, I mean crazy in a good way. Fish like you wouldn't believe have been hitting the fish cleaning tables here at Sweetwater. I'm talking lots of fish. The fishing here in Delacroix is on..and on at full force. Right now it seems like everyones catching fish, even the guys with usual bad luck. Capt. Jack fished yesterday with Ken Hart and his two boys. They left at 9:45am and came back at around 1:30 pm with 100 beautiful trout. So, basically what we are saying is..if you never been to Delacroix..you should come..and if you come often, you better get down here and come again. Right now it seems like nobody's really missing out. So, see ya soon at the island. Thanks to all of our customers. We appreciate each of you. And..we can't wait to see you here at Sweetwater Marina..and p.s. we do have plenty of beautiful live shrimp. We ready for ya!

Wasn't a very busy day at Sweetwater, but we launched around 8 fisherman. We left by 10:30. 3 boats came back by 10:30, before we left, with lots of fish. Which, we couldn't believe..but..it happened. I know we will be extremely busy tomorrow, so we ask everyone to please have patience, please park considerately and have respect for your fellow fisherman. Tomorrow is going to be a great day of fishing....an ABSOLUTELY great day. So, enjoy your day of fishing tomorrow and remember to be thankful that you get to be out there and enjoy the great Delacroix marshes and our awesome
Fisheries. And please, please, please be respectful to other fisherman...I know we said this already...but saying it again. As far as hotspots..all the spots seem to be hot right now. Which most people know, this is the time of the year that Delacroix shines like no other. And happy thanksgiving from the Sweetwater crew.

It's going to be hard to fish a place to tick in out of the wind this Saturday, maybe a few little spots directly across from the marina where you might be able to get out of the wind. And we should have live shrimp.

We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your experience staying with us at Sweetater Marina. We value all of our customers and welcome their feedback. To that end Capt. Jack spent some time today going through the towels and checking the lights in the rooms to see if they need to be changed or could have higher watt bulbs in them and just generally checking all the rooms. We will also be making sure all rooms have an extra set of sheets, a blanket and a pillow in the drawers under the bunk beds. As for being pricey, we feel that our prices on shrimp and gas are competitive with other Marina's in the area and are more than fair. And we know it's a hike up the stairs, but since we were built after Katrina we had no choice. However, we do take issue with your claim that there was no sofa sleeper in your room. Rooms 2-5, we believe you were in room 5, absolutely all have a full size sofa sleeper (although Capt. Jack recommends just sleeping on ythe sofa though because the sofa bed is not very comfortable). Again, we appreciate your business and the feedback and are changing some things because of it and hope you will give us another try next time you are in Delacroix.

we would love to see you tomorrow morning at Sweetwater Marina. Capt. Jack will not be there until a little later tomorrow, but just ask for Mr. Ronnie. He will be able to point you in the right direction and put you on the fish. Hopefully Capt. Jack will be there when you get back. You picked a good time for your 1st Delacroix fishing trip. The fishing has been great this year. Good luck.

We are very sorry about your experience. Having all been in similar situations we would hope that rules would be bent and common sense employed. We also know our young staff understands how important customer service is to us at Sweetwater and we see them go above and beyond on a daily basis to make sure anyone launching at Sweetwater has a great experience. Capt. Jack has already made some phone calls and dscussed how to better handle this type of situattion in the future. As always, we appreciate any input from our customers, good and bad.

Capt.Jack just read this post and is very sorry that you got stuck and we were unable to help, but to be fair, Capt. Jack always goes the extra mile not only for his customers, but anyone who needs help. Just a couple of weeks ago he purchased bamboo, then in addition to the $ spent on the bamboo, spent an entire day with one of his employees to mark the channel to help keep folks from getting stuck. On one Saturday last month we had 5 people call who were stuck and wanted to get towed in. In almost all cases an airboat was needed, Jack couldn't get to them even if he had been here. That day and on many other days we spend countless time on the phone with the St. Bernard Sheriff, Coast Guard and Sea Tow. We made sure everyone made it in even though Jack couldn't help them himself. And please keep in mind that Capt. Jack is not always here. Running a Marina entails much more than sitting in the bait shop helping launch boats. We appreciate everyone who defended Sweetwater And Capt. Jack. We love our customers, ya'll are great. We are also in full agreement about Sea Tow. BECOME A MEMBER. We are also truly sorry for this anglers experience, while we try to make everyone's experience down here in Delacroix a good one (even if you don't launch here), unfortunately you can't please everyone. That goes for any business and life in general.

A comment titled: Captain Jack - Sweetwater Marina in response to a report titled: !!!!BEWARE OF SERINGE'S LAUNCH!!!!!

Capt. Jack doesn't have a feud with anyone and has always been willing to work with and be helpful to anyone and everyone he meets. Those of you who are regulars at Sweetwater and have met Jack know this already. He is working very hard to get his shrimp boat up and running and to get fuel put in to make his business better, not to put anyone out of business. Once he has live bait and fuel on a regular basis it will be available to anyone, no matter where they launch. His goal is not and has never been to put anyone out of business. Anyone who fishes Delacroix regularly knows there is plenty of business to go around.

Thanks Spec hound. Captain Jack couldn't get them today though. He went out with Captain C.T. for a fish and game report. They tried for trout, on top and bottom, they did not bite today. He said they caught a few here and there. They limited out on Reds in Oak River. Reds arejust as good as tey have been.

Unfortunately we will be out of live shrimp this weekend. Captain Jack suggests getting your shrimp at Gulf Outlet Marina or Bait Inc. before you head out here to Delacroix.
