Spring fishing has been good to us at Angling Adventures of Louisiana. Mike & Mary ( clients for 9 yrs ) made the short ride in from McComb MS. Spent the night in my lodge and were ready to go at first light. We made the short run to the bridges over Lake Pontchartrain, fished a dropshot rig with live shrimp and were done by 11am. Good fun with good clients. Dennis & Gary have fished with AAofLA for 11 yrs. The guys like to mix it up. Some Speck fishing & some Red fishing. The guys had a great time once again. Mike B came in from TX to meet up with coworkers Kelly & Paul, they have fished with me 10 yrs. Redfish is what they wanted and Redfish we caught !! Spinners, Spoons and shrimp under a cork. Kel Marchand booked a trip for his daughter, she had good grades. We fished Dropshot rigs to put 39 nice Specks in the box before heading back to my dock.

Good fishing will continue into the summer. Call, click or text to book your ANGLING ADVENTURE 985-781-7811 ONSITE ACCOMMODATIONS & GUARANTEED FISH & FUN ! ! !

My clients have been fishing plastics & live shrimp 18' to 24' under a popping cork. Paul & Connor stayed in my lodge and finished with a limit of Speckled Trout and some Bull Redfish. Frank, Sam & Franklyn stayed in my lodge also. The guys put over 30 Specks on ice and several Bull Reds. LaRue & Greg wanted to get a head start of learning this area. We fished several areas, I showed them a few different techniques and they were happy. final tally 29 Speckled trout & 3 freshwater Catfish.

Spring will be here soon. I remember when I started my charter service in 1997, my family told me that if I fished for a living, fishing would become work and I would not enjoy it. I do work long hours, booking trips, seminars, TV shows, keeping the boat and lodge ready, magazine articles and internet post. This is the start of my 20th year as a charter fisherman and I still get excited every spring, every trip. I expect this spring to be better than average. We enjoyed a great fall catching many, many Speckled trout & Redfish. As the photoperiod increases and the water temperatures increase fishing will get more consistent.

RIGOLETS & BILOXI MARSH REPORTS

Redfishing in the Biloxi Marsh remains good. I have been fishing several different ways. Shrimp under a cork, Spinners, Spoons or Jerkbaits.

Spencer Hayes has fished with me since 2004. He came in with family & friends. Dalton, Sydney, Lisa, Ryan, Caitlian, & Kyle. Shrimp under a cork worked on the limit for this group from TX. CApt. Kris helped out and did a great job as always.

Renee fishes with me every few years. Mike & Renee caught the limit as well using shrimp under cork. The bite started off slow but as the tide turned the fish started to feed more aggressive. I like hungry fish ! ! !

Tepratt25, I have run a Blue Wave Pure Bay 2400 since 2011, I really like my boat. I cross Lake Borgne to fish the Biloxi Marsh many times each year. My clients have also commented on the great ride and abundant space to fish and store equipment. Add your choice of trolling motor and electronics and you are set. My 2014 Pure Bay should be here soon, I'd be happy to give you a wet test. Fast and great fuel economy. I could run any boat, I run a Blue Wave Pure Bay 2400 w/ 300 HP Yamaha.

A comment titled: Redfish Help in response to a report titled: Which is heavier?

JMouch

While you are pre fishing for the tournament measure, weigh & record every Redfish you catch. Fish interior ponds and areas closer to open water. You will see a difference in the weight of Reds caught closer to open water. Not because finfish weigh more than crabs. Because finfish contain much more oil which will add fat to a Redfsih. This time of the year thare are areas in the interoir of the marsh that have plenty of Mullet & Pogies. Just had a Redfish caught this week which weighed 8lbs caught deep in the interoir of the marsh. But the Redfish caught closer to open water eat more finfish on a more regular basis therefore they are often heavier. Find a few areas near open water and a few areas in the interior with Mullet & Pogies and you should have a good chance of placing in the money No matter what the weather is on tournament day. I hope this information helps & GOOD LUCK.
