Anyone know the results of the St Jude Bass Tournament? I was told at the landing someone left with 18 pounds from Pier 90. (Lake Cat)

April 17, 2010 at 11:12pm

Can you run in the main lake at CATAOUATCHE coming out of the Hwy 90 launch? I know the tank ponds are real shallow with stumps but if I come out of the hwy 90 canal and stay to the left is it safe to run? Thank you VERY much....

Ok, I am cooking a Deer Chili from meat I had processed. The meat will not turn brown. It stays red like?? I am assuming I have some or all of someone's exotic deer. Anyone know what kind of meat will not brown?

January 30, 2010 at 5:25pm

Why did you put that guy who killed a buck on that WMA in the Magizine? WHY......... I mean you couldn't just say that he killed the deer in the woods.... I mean if you would have just said he killed the deer in the southern half of the United States somewhere around Louisiana that would have been fine....... NO....NO.. DON'T EVEN SAY LOUISIANA!! I mean it is only 51,842 square miles, they might stumble up on the secret patch of woods that the buck was already killed in.

Now we are going to have fishing guides quitting to become hunting guides to guide people and other guides to the seceret spot. Louisiana just isn't that big!

Here it is guys and gals. The New Yamaha Fourstroke bass boat motor AND this motor is BLACK. I tested this motor with Dwayne Eschete on Lake Bull Sholes at Ranger Product knowledge in December. On a Ranger Z520 it had just under a 3 second hole shot and a top end of 75.4 MPH on GPS..and this is NATURALY ASPERATED...NO superchargers. This motor is 52 pounds LIGHTER than the 2 stroke!!! WOW! This motor is bigger than the 2 stroke but 52 pounds lighter. It looks and is a BEAST!! Yamaha will not be making 2 strokes anymore and they REALLY hit a home run on this!!

I will be at the Houma Boat show this weekend with this bad boy on a Ranger Z21 Intercoastal. Come by and check it out.

January 13, 2010 at 11:08am

I "Heard" (You know how that goes) this was a 400 pound buck killed in Maine. Anyone know another story or maybe the right one?

January 07, 2010 at 2:22pm

I have been invited to hunt in Gillsburgh this weekend. How are the deer up there? Big Bucks? Are the deer plentiful?

Guys, How much do you like this site? I personally LOVE it. I don't think that Tony and staff hear enough good things about it. When things go wrong or someone is mad, all they hear is negative comments about the site and the people on it. No one ever contacts people for good things.. only bad.

I love it for many reasons. I like the fact that well...for one, I KNOW first hand what Tony and LA sportsman magizine and web site does for LA outdoorsman by sponsoring events and such. I also like to see (Kids especially) post pictures and stories of successful and unsuccessful trips of both hunting and fishing. Because we all know that being in the outdoors with is more rewarding with friends and family.

LSU

Well, I think that the coaches have forgotten about Dickson all together. I think they need to forget about running the option 5 to 7 times a game. With Florida getting to our QB with their FRONT 3 someone needs to tell Les what the problem is because he can't get it. After all, at the start of the season he said and I quote, "I think this is one of the best O lines we have had since I have been at LSU."

Last year we had a pretty good O line and JJ did very good in the bowl game. The problem isn't our QB, it is the O line. I just WISH someone could interview Les and ask him TOUGH questions and MAKE him answer them completely. He tends to dodge questions and the caller or interviewer goes on without telling him that he didn't answer the question.

In a game like this at home, at night in the first half, on the 2....I think we needed to go for it on fourth down. Field goals wouldn't win this ball game. A simple play action out of the I formation with a quick pass to Dickson and if he wasn't open JJ to run it in. With the way our D was playing, we could have done it, even if we didn't make it we would have had them backed up in the Zone.

What scares me the most is I don't see us fixing the problem. Without Patrick Peterson and Chad Jones we would be in REAL trouble. HOW BAD IS PETERSON??? DOOD IS A MAJOR STUD!!! We have one more year with him and we need to make the best of it.

I purchased some snapper with the skin still on it at Tony's seafood. I am grilling the fish but the skin (Without scales) is on it. Can you eat the skin?

Thanks

Is it worth the money? Picked up one today and don't want to lose it. What do you use for a float for it?

A comment titled: Google it in response to a report titled: bass tourneys

I found the article where they tagged all bass released from a tourney off the east coast somewhere and the percentages were between 21 and 28 percent of fish killed. The same study was done in a lake in Texas (I Think) and the same results were found.
I hate to hear this kind of stuff because I LOVE to fish tournaments.

What I have been saying is FACT from a VERY well know law firm that has offices in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Houston. They have several fisherman both Commercial and Guides and also people with camps that cant use.

Katrina is a WHOLE different situation....Dont try to compare the two. We still do not know the out come of this yet and as of now it looks pretty good for Louisiana.
If you need to be compinsated then do it, if you dont, then dont try it or they WILL eventually look over all paid out and find some people that may get into some trouble.

A comment titled: HERE YOU GO !!!! in response to a report titled: You may want to be here Thursday

I just spoke to my friend who is a lawyer and he said to see what BP or who ever is offering you RIGHT NOW or whenever they do. Lets say they offer you $10,000. If you are happy with that and it compinsates for your losses then take it. If it DOES NOT, THEN get a lawyer and tell the lawyer that you have a $10,000 offer from them right now without the lawyer, and that you will hire him and he will get a certian percentage of everything OVER the $10,000 you were already offered. See if he takes it!!!!! If he REALLY thinks you have something he will, if not then he is just going to take a part of money you were going to get anyway!!! Pretty Clever!!

Well, I spoke to my friend that was representing some Vietnamese shrimpers and as they looked further into it turns out that the shrimpers ONLY made like $11,000 a year.....lololol At least that is what they were claiming!! So my friend said they have to average out for the past 5 years what they made THEN wait to see how long they will be without work!!LOL Cheating on Taxes will catch up to you one day!!!lololol

PLUS, he said (for those of you thinking about it)
DO NOT get together as a group or a 'Class action' because you will get SQUAT!!

A comment titled: Well in response to a report titled: West Side Oil Prevention

It seems that the MS River is doing it by it self. With the wind helping and the river being strong like it is, the west side like Grand Isle and so on will be ok as of now. Plus with the actual leak being where it is has alot to do with it. Imigine if this happened south of Lake Charles???? WOW!! I am not an expert but we have had some information here the Ascension Marine.

They said that they didnt have enough booms. Thats one of MANY reasons fisherman aren't setting them up. Another One is they may not know how, the liability......

There is a guy that lives in Spring, TX just above Houston that does them. Call Shallow Sport boats in Texas and they will hook you up with him.

Made to GO - My buddy has one on his Z21 Intercoastal that folds into his center storage. PRETTY SWEET!!

ACTUALLY a bass has a 21% chance of surviving after being released from a tournament. Just sayin.

I am NOT for keeping bass to eat but at the same time if someone wants to keep what they catch then who are we to stop them?

I know that Don Hutchinson got shot in Bayou Pigion while bass fishing by a .22 cal. Some guys were shooting from the levee and (I guess) a bullet fragment hit him in the arm.

Maybe this is what you heard because....."you know how these things gets turned around"

Buddy, there is a BIG tournament this weekend so don't expect any good info. Ask next week. I was not lying to you about catching the fish in muddy water. Don't be scared of it. I honestly catch TONS of bass in muddy or stained water.

I was there yesterday in the Phoenix Bass Boat but I assure you that I didn't "Fly" by anyone. I did pass him in the Hwy 90 canal in the morning but he was running. I may have seen your Nephew....is his mud boat the kind you sit in the middle and use a stick for steering? He passed me in a canal along with another guy in the same kind of boat but with a LOUD white muffler sticking out back.
