I wonder what will happen to the basin this coming hunting season and a few more years to come do you think the deer season should have a doe day every day or should they shut down the season down all together for deer and rabbit.

? this is for people who hunt the basin how many of you think we should go back certian doe days in the basin. With the high water we have been getting the last 3 years the doe heard has gone down and I have enough cameras to prove it. So lets see what other people think about this.

Had a camera out for two weeks on a salt lick not the first deer came to it. did see onlt a few old tracks not good we should not have any does days @ all this year and allow only 2 bucks 6 point or better just my opinion.

A comment titled: deer dogs in response to a report titled: No Deer Dogs

the deer dogs do not bother me as much as when we have high water and all the doe days in the basin
we seen this past season what the doe days have done i spent plenty of days with out seeing a deer so how do you exspect to get the younger kids intereseted in deer hunting by not be able to see anything while sitting on a stand.

nice buck for public land just think is the great state of LA would go to a six point rule to help with our deer it might take a couple of years but I think it would work.

Heck still to many doe days below the bayou sorrel locks with all the high water not many doe left in this area which will lead to less bucks also.

A comment titled: basin area 6 in response to a report titled: Your input

I say leave it like it is but take away all the doe days in the area 6 basin area put it back to only the doe days like it use to be the basin it floods to much you can not compare this area to the rest of area 6 which is on the outside of the basin I work with 4 cameras and I can see the difference in the doe heard it is way down high water you can wipe out the deer heard. At least this is below the Bayou Sorrel locks area. IF the LDWF would like some photos of this past season I can show you what it looks like.
just my opinion

A comment titled: area 6 in response to a report titled: Who's Going to be Thee???r

yes with all the doe days in the basin and now more pressure at the end of the season pretty some they will not sell any big game licsense in this area I am speaking about the area below the Bayou Sorrel locks with all the high water you can not have all these doe days down in this area.
just my opinion

A comment titled: deer in response to a report titled: Where did all the deer go?

simple too many doe days and people not useing there tags if they are not checked at the boat landing in the basin
for the deer tags they are able to shot another one. So how can you control the amount fo deer talen?

with all the doe days in the basin and high water in a couple of more years you will be lucky to see a deer
just think how many doe were taken out with the high water.
it is ok to have doe days all season long were the area does not flood. One day i would like to be able to take my grandson and at least be able to see something. I have camreas out in different areas in the basin and in the last 3 years the heard has gone down. you do need doe in the area to bread with.
