ABOUT TREVOR

CAST A LINE FOR HOPE TREVOR'S CHARTER WHEELCHAIN BENEFIT

Trevor is a smart, funny, outgoing almost 5 year old who loves to stay active! When Trevor was only 10 months of age, he was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a progressively degenerative disease which eventually claims the lives of its victims. It is the #1 genetic killer of children under the age of two. Trevor will never walk, and his disease will eventually rob him of his ability to swallow, breathe properly, and hold his head up. Since the day of his diagnosis, Trevor has accumulated surmounting medical equipment and household items to attempt to provide him with as normal a childhood as possible. Moreover, as Trevor continues to grow, expenses will continue to rise. To accommodate TrevorÂ’s growth, he is now in the process of acquiring a new 420 pound power wheelchair that will cost a good bit out of his families expenses. The first attempt was denied through insurance but his mom will keep fighting it until it is approved.

Any help would be appreciated

My wife Finally pulled the trigger after I didn't give her a choice about going on this hunt with a couple of good friends, Night started off buy seeing 3 Gators in the area it was called in, the first set of eyes was Boated and Landed in about Hour and a half and total lenght was 12 foot 6 inches and hauld in by rod and reel and a trouble hook, But the night was just getting started as I put the gun in my wifes hands and the next Alligator in the area was her's. Being she has never killed and animal, it was like a first deer hunt and kill and I am sure a lot of you remember how that was, well my next hook up was what I though would be about a 8-9 footer and after getting away the first time I got a good hook on him and it was on for the next 45 minutes, finally up he comes and after a little of schooling with my wife on where to shoot him before we left home, his head surfaced and POP, Holly crap, 1 shot and he heads to the bottom, she SCREAMS, 'I GOT HIM, I GOT HIM' IT was just a great sight to watch unfold, It was awesome and her Alligator cam in a 11'1 , and she tells me 20 minutes later that she was still shaking and say's Honey If this is anything like deer hunting I now know why you do it,'BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT BUCK FEVER FEELS LIKE, BUT I SURE KNOW WHAT ALLIGATOR FEVER IS' LOL that was. A day I will remember for sure..

Please Stay Focus, Accidents can Happen to you!!

A very important hunting Tip. If your at the camp with the use of several different caliber Rifle bullets. Please check them before shooting them some bullets look the same.

We had a accident this morning with a 7mm and a 270 bullet. Bullet exploded at gun fire. Calvin was not hurt thank god had a few metal fragments hit him in the face but it was unbelievable he still killed the deer.

January 14, 2012 at 3:18pm

Here is a hunt tip that I find that works on stand placement on food plot, video of Fri. evening hunt and saturday hunt..

December 18, 2011 at 9:20pm

Hunter's here is a real life question that happen today.

At a buddies hunting camp another member Gut shot a nice buck. Deer runs off and they track the deer for 2 hours as the deer would run and lay up, run and lay up. Final they give up on the deer.

Later in the day a buddy goes in with a dog and the deer was still bleeding enough for the dog to track it. Finally the dog bayed the deer on a cliff and my buddies son shot the deer and killed it.

Now What would the right thing to do with this deer!!

Give it back to the first blood shooter?

Split the deer 2 ways and give first blood the horns

What would be the right thing to do!!

I myself would give the horns back and split the meat!!

What would you do!!

Help! Help Help!!

Here is what I have.

Browning A-bolt with Boss system
Leupold Vx-lll 3x9x50
Shooting Win. 150gr. Silver tips.

I have been using those for years with no problems till now. First it started of with several misses this year and come to find out the boss system was loose. Got it tighten back up where it was and then 4 kills in a row by 2 different hunters. The next hunt another miss. Put gun in a weighted vise got it where I wanted it all group touching rack other 2 inches high. I'm good. Next hunt fired and a gut shot. Thought it might have been me. Yesterday really good buck steps out. Fired and a miss at 220 yards. This morning. Doe steps out fired. She hits the ground at 168 yards. But the catch is. It was not where I was aiming. Hit her in the back bone right in front the hind quarter. Get to the camp I shot 3 times. First was 4 inches high 3 inches to the left. Second shot was 2 inches high 3 inches left. 3rd shot was dead line with bullseye 3 inches left.

Could this be a bullet problem are what. Don't know where to start. But I gotta get a fix fast. Prime time is coming up on us.

This pass Friday Capt.Scott Ard and I took A trip to Texas and a trade out trip for some fishing here in old Lake Pontchartrain where I put the Texas guys on one heck of a trip, in return it was time for us to head to texas for some payback, I knew the deer hunting there was good for some meat and some ok bucks but I wanted to get in in some of the duck hunting, and I will say, I never thought it would be that way in that part of Texas,

We Arrived on Friday noon time, got some lunch and hit the deerstands where we saw tons of deer but nothing that really caught my eye but on the othere hand a shot was fired and I new it was Scott and had a pretty good idea of the buck he was after as we saw a picyure of him before the hunt, big tall heavey 8pt, which would have been Scotts very first buck ever, but it turned into a Miss, well as we decided to hog hunt friday night and shot after shot after shot with Scotts gun and my gun both the same 30-06 browning with the boss system we both could not hit the side of a barn, so With the duck hunt set for sat. morning the shotguns was ready to kill something and thats what happened 36 good ducks in no time, so off to get these rifels hit where they need to be, got them done so I though, nope,Scott missed that 8 point another 7 times and I miss a doe well come to find out the Boss Systems was loose and not tighting down which was throwing the bullets everywhere but stight, well back to the hogs sataurday night and finally hitting something 3 hogs down and a long evening in the pass and a long night of tracking Scotts buck which we lost a big 10 point which we hope they find him this week, time for sunday morning Duck time results in 22 Big ducks, Pintails,Redheads,Widgons Awesome hunt and final day, had to get some deer on the ground, after I missed a couple mor doe with this gun I was really ready to head home, I know I didnt forget how to shoot and I am not that bad of a shot, so I bow hunted the ground blind and killed a doe and then Scott and I got together and I was playing with the Boss System on my gun and it was loose again, I tighten by hand and all of a sudden I shoot at another doe, she hit the ground, I hand it to scott, doe hit the ground 4 shots 4 deer , very weird, but trip turned into one heck of a meat haul..58 ducks,5 doe,2 bucks one lost and 3 hogs, here is the video I put together and some pictures, enjoy

A comment titled: Gun in response to a report titled: Rifle HElP!!

Ok just got back from the range!!!

Here is what I done and the gun did need some over looking.

I gave the gun a total breakdown and tighten every bolt I could fine. I shot it yesterday and it grouped fine and I was fixing to leave and I told myself. One more shot. Well I'm glad I did. It shot 4 inch left and 6 inches low. Well my base mounts came loose. Came home broke scope down and reinstalled it like it was new with loctite and got the parallex adjusted right and I changed bullets and got the boss system set to the hornady SST. Now it is doing its thing.

Picture below

Bottom 3 was first grouping after I got it set and top was the last grouping at 2 inches high. I also shot a box and a half to recoat my barrel with new bullets. Now I hope I got this. It's also nice to see the grouping almost touching each other.

Thank all of you for all the help and I hope it help some others.

A comment titled: Gun in response to a report titled: Rifle HElP!!

Well after a gun break down I went and resighted in and got it where I wanted and I was fixing to leave. I took one more shot and bam 7 inches low. We I wiggled the scope an the entire scope moved. I didn't take off the base mounts when I broke it down. So now I think that was my problem. I came home a broke it all down again completely and Blue loctite base mounts and scope mounts ang going resight again tomorrow. I loctite it with the blue before I read the threads so I'm at a plus. This should do the trick. I will update tomorrow. Thanks for all the help!!

A comment titled: 30-06 in response to a report titled: Rifle HElP!!

I shoot 30-06. I love this gun. This is the first issue I have had. Today I took the boss off and cleaned everything took scope off and remounted it and got everything tighten down. Now I do notice this. When I look throw my scope and I move my head up and down my crosshairs move up and down. Kinda strange. It's like I need a anchor point like bow hunting. I don't think that suppost to happen. I'm lost and need this fixed!!

A comment titled: All year in response to a report titled: Rifle HElP!!

This has been going on all year and I tired of it. I had this gun for 10 years and shooting same bullets and never had a problem till now. I don't know what to do. It will be retired after this year. If you figure it out please let me know. I'll do the same.

A comment titled: The Max in response to a report titled: What would you have done

Well, there ain't nothing like trying to get the max growth out of your deer heard. If you have to watch them for a few years then that's what you have to do. But low pressure is a big key. We hardly hunt the same stand in a weeks time. We hunt the wind only. If I get in a stand and the wind is wrong. I'm out of there. Just a few key factors makes a big big differents.

A comment titled: Tv show in response to a report titled: What would you have done

I am working with trying to get Tony Taylor to do a TV Show on this property with the owner to give out the tips and tricks of how he manages it. It would be a great show. That way if people want to manage there place they can learn a few things. It works. I see deer there on a regular bases. My last hunt was a little slow only seeing 7 and killing a doe.

December 13, 2011 at 1:39pm
A comment titled: Low pressure in response to a report titled: What would you have done

Yep, another way we hunt there is by bringing the bow and the rifle. If we can shoot it with the bow that first choice and you wouldn't believe but it's pretty affective. No gun shots.

December 13, 2011 at 12:33pm
A comment titled: Odd in response to a report titled: What would you have done

Yes it was odd to see them together but we do see them like that on a regular bases. They are showing sign of rut as I watch them chase and scrape and just some light fighting. Now with that being said. Letting him go yes that is a chance I took worried about him crossing the line but ther is one I let go 2 years ago and man he's a really good one now. But he kept his 8pt frame added length and mass with a drop tine. Hunting in the eastern central La. It just a well managed private land.
