Showing signs of life

Trout are starting to show some signs of life. Josh Cockfield’s crew fished with me on Wednesday. High winds had water up to the top of our dock so we started with wet ankles. With the winds shifting to the north I figured the tide would drop out and flush bait into the lakes. With that thought I told the guys that we would search for some trout first thing and go from there. We had to make a bunch of moves but we caught at each one of them. Still plenty of small trout but we found a few schools holding trout up to 16in. Shrimp Creole Matrix under a cork did the trick.

How deep did you fish them under the cork?

I typically fish about 2ft under a cork for trout.
