Tough Day on T-Funky/Bogue Falaya 5 7 18

Wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed last day of NO Jazz and Heritage Fest yesterday and invited her to join me today on T-Funky trip(kinda glad she politely declined offer!!)and I could readily tell it was gonna be a tough T-Funky/Bogue Falaya trip and that would be a huge understatement!!!Had nice buoy with me to possibly mark sac school but never found em but did latch onto smallish guy jigging believe it or not about 9 ft under slip cork with Slab Daddy jigging pole.He conveniently slipped hook and missed one right before and dinked and dunked around, switching over to bass-tossing in Bogue Falaya with no takers, except for huge gar(thank God for polarized glasses as I quickly reeled Yum Swim n Dinger outta danger).Saw some neat wildlife, smallish deer that swam across Bogue Falaya as me and fellow bass-yakking were chatting about our lack of success(I did have a few smallish Kentucky bass swipe at Yum Swim n Dinger but no solid hook-ups)and took neat pic of small Canada goose family(they were very close when I snapped their pic!!).Fished hard and did see a few fishermen and the only ones catching was two older gents in last spot I tried, saw them boat at least 2-3 decent slabs and I managed to nab a beauty of a black sac but fellow was shade too small to keep(black/chartreuse tube jig tipped with Crappie Psychic chartreuse trailer and Crappie Nibbles-neon chartreuse).Perhaps a change in soft plastic mighta made a difference as water today extremely clear.Next trip I might switch to Bobby Garland, blue ice shad lure as water was ridiculously clear and think last spot was loaded up with too many gar to count,Ray Bans Polarized pointed em out, even down to about 2 ft!!!Might be wise to give sacs time to recover post-spawn and maybe concentrate of Lake P specks and reds along extreme NShore!!

Just to see what factors mighta played a hand in today's miserable results, checked tide tables and based upon my observation as well as predicted tidal movement(abysmal),no wonder fish were not terribly active!!!Th tidal prediction much better than today's and thinking about a Lake P trip to one of my favorite secluded bayous vs a trip to chase sac a lait in near bath-temperature water!!
