what part of the river did you find that hog? guess I should have went there Saturday instead of the canals in lakeshore estates! lot closer and wouldn't have gotten skunked! nice pig!!! what did he eat??

Danno23,The lighted pier where I caught my personal best no longer has underwater light functional and it was an incredible day,at least for me with 3 bass in excess of 3 lbs and the day I am referring to was when I managed 6 total bass with the biggest 4.6,another at 3.4,and one slightly smaller at 3.2.Not sure where that 6 lb beast was caught but I have started finding some fine slabs in T-Funky and biggest to date a shade over 1 lb and missed one at least 3 times that size just last week and yesterday missed at least 2 that were easily in excess of 1 lb each.Have not been targeting bass, been having too much fun jigging for combo of sac au lait, goggle eye perch, big bluegills and bass up to 2 lbs!!

nice work Mandevillian. always enjoy reading your reports. think I'm going to stay local this weekend (live in madisonville) and throw the yak in the T-funky and chase some bass instead of traveling to Slidell or even further chasing reds and specks. thinking of trying some docks near downtown Madisonville, since it's only a few miles from my house! I'll let you know how I do!

If I were you, think I would launch yak at either 4th Street near St Paul’s or 3 Rivers Launch and seek secluded waters(hate week end fishing and avoid it at all costs🍀).The T-Funky has been fairly kind to me lately think I have decent pattern for sac au lait and bass also attack tube jigs, not the easiest way to fish from yak with Slab Daddy 9 ft jigging pole. I typically nab them while standing on front deck of Southfork. Lotta folks been commenting on my reports and never seem to mind but do not give away exact spots. Tube jigs with Crappie Psychic chartreuse trailers and PowerBait Crappie Nibbles(neon chartreuse)Secret weapons 🎣🍀🐠

So i was just looking up where you recommended mande, looks like there is a public launch at 4th st, but map says it's bouge falaya, not t-funky. Obviously same water, just splits snd renamed. Don't think I've tried that far up. You recommend that far away from lake p? I was thinking about launching in downtown madisonville and fishing all the docks. Are there lots of standing trees up river where you recommend?

You could go a tad S after you leave Menetre Launch and you would end up in T-Funky. If ya wanna chase Kentucky bass plenty are N of the Menetre Launch and they tend to prefer running and clearer water like what the Bogue Falaya offers. If ya want to pitch docks plenty all around the Menetre Launch. Hope dat helps and waiting out the slight rain and headed back after T-Funky slabs.
