Hitting T-Funky in search of sac au lait and bass 3 4 2018

Assisted older son and daughter in law at Abita Farmer's Market(they had blackberry jelly and bread and butter pickles and dill pickles and gorgeous yard eggs)and chatted with our older son's father-in-law and his dad lives on Lake Caroline in Madison,MS and has been hammering sac au lait up there so I figured why not give a few T-Funky sweet spots a go with nice Slab Daddy jigging pole and had nice Shimano Curado refurbished by Southwestern Parts and Service,factory-authorized Shimano and Abu-Garcia repair experts and picked up Booyah Pad Crasher at Bass Pro to go along with a few Spro frogs.Gonna see if T-Funky sweet spots might have cleared up a tad from last week. Was getting ready to head to son and daughter-in-law's(next door to us)when Wifey spotted possibly rabid big coon baring its fangs and up in a tree next to our driveway and older son quickly and humanely dispatched ornery ole coon(probably weighed close to 15-20 lbs)with well-placed shot from very ole Remington Nylon 66!!Hope T-Funky treats me right tomorrow!!

Mandevillian,

My parents live on Lake Caroline as well. Im heading up there this weekend. Bringing the yak to try and find those slabs.. Would love to get a hint hint where he is hooking into them boys.

Also fishing cane bayou Sunday and caught a few bass, tried to go out to the Lake P and it looked like the ocean with white caps and wind ripppppping.

Would love to meet up one day and tear up Cane together. I so nice out there. Wifey had fun too.

Might ask my son's father-in-law to get some indication of where his dad has been mauling slabs.Personally,I rarely target sac au lait only catching them by accident and one of these days will definitely target them. The way I typically fish either Cane or T-Funky is via pirogue and tough jigging the way most folks do as they stand up to get the micro-jigs all into the bases of cypress trees and I sit down, also making it harder to work a frog or to jig sac au lait. The slabs should be bedding and my guess is fishing a slip cork with micro-jigs(Bobby Garland)should produce.I used to catch a few fishing the non-motorized Pipeline in Big Branch and typically would catch them real deep, again using a slip cork.Anytime ya wanna meet up just shoot me a text(985)807-4123 or e-mail,acyprusjr@yahoo.com and we can see what we can do to meet up.With the impending Spillway opening, not sure what to expect as far as specks and reds go,though last time the Spillway was opened,I caught a monster bluecatfish and huge red on same tip, caught the red in Lake and caught the beast of catfish deep in the Marsh, fun stuff and think as memory serves me,catfish was well over 15 lbs and red much bigger!!
