Finally had a chance to meet up with Kevin Fitzpatrick and his dad today and we found a very muddy and disturbed T-Funky,launching their fine Ranger aluminum bass boat at the 3 Rivers Rd launch and we headed straight for some areas where I typically tangle with and lose nice bass!!Kevin had been fishing Manchac area having success with Ribbit frogs and he was tossing Ribbit when nice bass inhaled it,later weighed nice fish on digital scale at home-1.6 lbs and I started tossing Yum Swimming Dinger, black and blue but broke it off on one of the ever-present obstructions on bottom of T-Funky and switched over to Yum Christie Craw in Olive Shadow, mated to nice pre-pegged 4/0 worm hook.I am not the most patient of bassers but did stick to Craw and was rewarded with just one smallish bass, inhaled Craw just as I tossed it to base of cypress tree.Turns out Kevin's dad and I know each other via two connections,Pharmaceutical Industry and Humana Medicare Insurance(wife and I are Independent Medicare and Individual and Group Brokers)!!Had great time chatting about fishing Toledo Bend and Bayou Segnette and ole-school pirogue fishing(Cas Fitzpatrick and I cut our teeth pirogue,ole-school fishing)and think he might get nice Chapman pirogue, great aerobic work-out and fun fighting reds, bass, specks, flounders, etc from cozy confines of Chapman pirogue and zero maintenance and never a need to gas em up!!!Did see ultra-cool sight, hoot owl chilling in nook of cypress tree and Kevin and I shot a few pics of owl. Can't wait to show them some some T-Funky spots and did chat with sac au lait fisher who said he had 11 in box,we did not target slabs today but maybe shoulda concentrated on them vs chunking for bass.
