Best Time of the year for Hogs

Want to get a few hog stands set up on the property. I was wondering what the best time of the year to hunt hogs was?

Re: Best Time of the year for Hogs
Now is my favorite time! Right after deer season closes and before turkey season opens. Deer season is over in my area, most people have stopped feeding their deer so if you put up a feeder and get hogs coming you should do well. Hunting pressure is way off with the close of deer season so hopefully they come out more frequently plus it’s a lot cooler than other times of the year. That’s my two cents.

I agree that this is prime time for hog hunting.Hit one of my favorite Honey island sloughs yesterday and spotted what looked to be decent sized dead hog, probably fairly fresh kill from week end and can't understand why someone would kill animal and let it rot(pic attached).I only saw a few squirrels and was not able to stalk in close enough and did see hog trotting across one of the roads.Talked to fellow with hog dogs and told him about the wasted hog and he said there were tons of hunters in woods yesterday(I stay away on week ends)!!Good luck and great way to spend some quality time in woods before turkey and crawfishing kicks off!!
