For a group Louisiana deer hunters comprised of brother-in-laws and friends, the time had come to make our yearly deer hunting trip to Sonara, Texas. We left after the Thanksgiving dinner and drove 12 hours to Sutton County. We dressed in hunting gear an made our way for the 1st daybreak hunt. Sutton County allows a licensed deer hunter 2 bucks and 3 does for their season. Our 1st day of hunting ended without taking a deer between 3 hunter, Dr Mike McComb, Dr Tony Trentacoste, & Bruce McDonald. The weather was in the upper 40's in the morning and low 70's in the afternoon. We saw nice deer at every stand but decided to pass on most of them. Plenty of good size bucks were observed along with does. 'It's was amazing the deer I saw today.' Dr Tony said. The second day Dr Tony harvested a good size doe. More reports to come.
