Re: Advertisements or Reports?
Anyway for purpose of the 'reports' section. I've seen more teal this year so far than I've seen in the previous 5 teal season combined. This is areas in the southeast - Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes. Everything looks to be a go! I'm pumped up.

Re: Advertisements or Reports?
I will be in Kaplan on Friday opening which has lots of birds and in St. Bernard Parish on Saturday. We have not seen a lot in St. Bernard past few years for teal season but I am hopeful.

Re: Advertisements or Reports?
Bill collector,I would wager that the St.Bernard marsh loaded up with teal as I type this, hopefully this cool front has convinced a bunch more to make their presence known.Due to my crazy consultant schedule, have not had a chance to adequately scout, not the ideal scenario but one that I have to deal with.I plan to hunt the Pearl River WMA next Friday and much more familiar Big Branch Sat(have a Knights of Columbus tailgate party Sunday)and hope to knock down a few.I had a Delacroix lease many years ago and even more years ago than that, had a Hopedale lease and both seemed to have ton of teal in teal season.Got a few buddies that I rely on for duck info and would not be surprised if you see lotta teal!!Good luck!!

Hey Bill, jj, and Mandy,
The teal have shown up in parts of the Delacroix marsh. We saw some good numbers last weekend while hunting the gators. There were many more last weekend than the weekend before. Just know that they are isolated in certain areas. You may travel for miles without seeing a single teal the find a good concentration of them. They will spread out once the shooting begins. It seem they stay in the busted marsh. Going after the gators again this weekend and will let you know if more have shown up or if the teal we had have left. Good luck this season!

Re: Teal sightings?
Just got back home after a weekend of chasing the gators. Our area of Delacroix is holding fewer teal this weekend than we had around last weekend. The tide is high and that com make them relocate quickly. Usually the high water will just move them further to the middle of the marsh but a majority of the teal have left the areas they were in last week. There is still enough around to get excited about next weekend. Looking forward to it and will send reports. Good luck to all!

Re: Teal sightings?
Just wanted to share more teal reports. Hearing from others that the teal numbers have decreased through the Delacroix area. Also talked to Phil Robertson and he had the same report from NE La. There were good numbers up there as well but most have moved on as of this past weekend. Those teal can show up or leave on any given. Looking forward to the weekend. Good Luck!

Proud Pop and others,Me and buddy went down Lake Road in Lacombe area(used to be loaded up with teal)and all we saw were some fine mottled ducks and a few woodies-hope the teal that a buddy saw last week are replaced by some new arrivers!!!Tough sledding when these lil rockets get wind of higher-than-normal water levels and decide instantaneously to vacate de premises!!!

I ran all over in Pearl River WMA south of Hwy 90 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday chasing gators. The water was up and did not see a single teal.

The good thing about SE Louisiana is there is always a plan B. If the teal aren't around we will concentrate on filling the rest of the alligator tags. Also, there is fish to be caught, and deerstands and feeders to get ready. Good luck to all this weekend in whatever to do!

Re: Teal sightings?
That's interesting. Two different people I know scouted Biloxi marsh one yesterday and one today. One saw 3 one saw 0. Maybe they showed up this afternoon there......

Re: Teal sightings?
Like I said about Delacroix, they are concentrated in certain areas. Depending on where you are looking, you may see a couple, a bunch, or none. Also will relocate any given day. Got to try to know for sure. Good luck to all!

Scouted in big branch near lake road last Saturday and saw 3 teal. Went ride down lake road this morning and saw about a dozen just driving by. Hopefully that means they are there

Jimmy is probably just trying to get people away from Pearl River, which is usually a zoo anyways.

Re: Teal sightings?
Hate to be bearer of bad news,as far as Pearl River WMA goes but gotta call a spade a spade and on my way home from Abita KC meeting, contacted buddy of mine who fished the Pearl River area today and he saw maybe 3 teal.I scouted Big Branch and saw a few smallish flocks, hope they stick around and fished a few areas, catching a small blue catfish, monster gafftop catfish that luckily self-released but not before sliming about a ft of my fluorocarbon line and dat slime took all of about ten casts to extricate and I did manage a nice 20.5 inch red, bout 3.3 lbs, nice griller and small hardhead.Did see ton of jug lines along portion of Cane Bayou and gotta think they might get caught in a few props this Sat am,so be forewarned.New Abita KC member heading to a Hopedale lease and will see him Sunday at our tailgate party and will give him the skinny on tomorrow and Sat.Hope we all see a few!!

I couldn't hunt this morning due to work but my friends hunted our Delacroix property and killed their 2 limits. Good luck to all this weekend.

Re: Teal sightings?
Was actually pleasantly surprised at the lack of hunters where we decided to put in to hunt Pearl River WMA and now I know why-very few teal and plenty of woodies and saw nice flock of Squealers, probably about a dozen in the flock.Did have at least 5 woodies land and play with the decoys and was cool watching mottled duck about land on robo-teal-why don't dat happen in regular duck season!!!Heard from a few guys about mixed results and hope tomorrow more better!!!
