Headed out this morning in search of all things spotted. We figured we had all morning to fish before the rains came but we were wrong. About mid morning the rain started coming down pretty good so we a decision to make. With only a few trout and a couple reds in the boat we could either head in or go soak crab at the pass for a few to see what was lurking down in the deep. En route to the pass we came across some unlucky boaters who were tied off on a camp with a spunt hub and simultaneously my fishing partner got a call to head into work. We immediately agreed to do our good samaritan deed for the day. After dropping my buddy off and the unlucky boaters I headed back out in the rain and immediately arrived to some fatties lurking in some deep water and ended the day out with a great box. Matrix shad in the lemon head color tightlined on 5/16 and 3/8oz jig heads did the trick in the deep water. Intersectig canals and current lines in deep water did the trick today.
