Wildgame Innovations Trail Cameras

I would just like to vent a little and express my feelings toward the Wildgame Innovations Trail Cameras. I'm not sure if others have had any trouble with these products, but my opinion of these are GARBAGE! I received an IR4 for Christmas in 2010, so I only used it for the last couple of weeks of that season. After season, I removed all batteries and stored it inside in my closet. I put it out the next year around Sept. (2011), and it worked for about two weeks and then scrambled. I spoke to Customer Service, which took several days, and had to pack up product, ship to warehouse to receive a refurbished piece of junk about 4 weeks later. Then, due to my stupidity, I received another IR4 for Christmas that year (Dec. 2011) and used it for the last couple of weeks of 2011. I stored the refurbished camera and new camera in closet without batteries in offseason to put them out in Sept 2012.

A couple of weeks into the 2012 hunting season, the new camera which was received for Christmas in 2011 did the same thing as the one before and I had to ship this camera back (same troubles dealing with customer service) only to receive another refurbished camera about 4 weeks later.

Fast forward to Sept. 2013, I put both my refurbished IR4 trail cameras out for about two weeks and now one of these have scrambled again. I spent a whole week trying to contact the customer service only for them to of course tell me it was no longer under warranty. I even emaild them and still haven't gotten any response. I'm not sure if any others have had any trouble with these products, but several other members of our hunting club have them and have gone through the same trouble as they do not hardly last a whole hunting season. I know these are not the most expensive on the market and you usually get what you pay for, but I feel they should last a little more than one full hunting season. Are any others having problems with these products?

I had the same problem with every wild game innovations camera ive ever owned. I switched to the cheaper Moultrie cameras they have worked good for me for a little over a year

Not Good
I have had several WGI Cameras. They were all junk and none lasted very long. I find that most cameras that cost less than $150 are not very good

Wildgame cameras
I have had 4 cameras in 3 years crater on me. Work fine for the most part of the season and then quit working. I still have one camera of theirs that is working on it's third year, it is the $69.99 camera. The IR4 is junk and like you said customer service sucks. I have called and emailed and never was able to get a response either way.

worst piece of c-- I have ever owned. I bought 2 on sale. Put one next to a feeder I filled and came back after a couple weeks. the feeder was empty and deer tracks all around. Not one picture. I didn't bother to return it I just through it up against a tree. The other one I put at a feeder and got a few pictures but not very good quality. They lost my business.

I too have had two wildgame cameras. One never worked out the box and the other quit after 1 week. I sent the units back to WGI with a letter. Never got a response....and never got my cams back!! My impression of WGI is a poorly run business with pitiful products.
At least Moutrie and primos will replace their defective products.

I've got one a buddy gave me two years ago, and it was three years old then. Its the big black one with the white flash. It's still going even after being under 3 feet of water for a week. Just changed the batteries and let it dry out. Not the best clarity but it is only a $60.00 camera brand new! I've got a primos ultra blackout and its no better than my old one operationally speaking. The only plus is it only needs AA batteries instead of C's. Don't know much about the new WGI camera though.

Wild Game Innovations junk!
I agree with all of the bad reviews. I bought a new Wild Game Innovations feeder controller to replace an old Moultrie that some hogs had broken. I brought it to my property and installed it, and it would not work. Right out of the box! I replaced the little digital pad with one from another feeder, I think it was a Remington, and it worked fine. I brought it back to own with me and called Wildlife Innovations, and they said that there was nothing they could do. I lost the receipt, so I could not return it to where I bought it from.
I chalked it up to an expensive lesson learned, but I will never buy anything with their name on it again! I will stick with Moultrie. It is ashamed, because they are a Louisiana based company that I would like to support!

don't waste your money on these wgi cameras. ive been through 3 or 4 of em. Christmas presents. all the ones I had ate batteries quickly. some would stop taking pics when the batteries would get low, meaning I would hafta visit the camera often, likely alerting the deer. my buddys testing a camera that sends pics to your cell phone every time it takes one. says it only cost 350. ill let yall know if it works.

RETURN IT!!!
Guys, I don't know where everyone is located but anytime I have a problem with any piece of equipment just return the darn thing to Academy or walmart (whoever sells them). I have had multiple issues with WGI and I never even once attempted to contact their customer service. All you need to do is take yourself to customer service and tell them you lost the receipt and it just stopped working. They will deal with WGI or the distributor where they purchased. NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH DOING THIS! Worst case if you don't have a receipt is you get a store credit on their gift cards but who doesn't shop at Academy or Walmart for that matter for outdoors stuff.

But FYI - I nor anyone I know will ever in my life but cheap WGI cameras or anything they own. Moultrie or Bushnell cams all the way for us!

NEW CAMERAS
I haven't had any issues with the new model cameras they sell. LightsOut camera is one of the best on the market I think. If you spend more than $100 on a camera they are worth it I believe.

Lights Out
Lights Out cameras are NO better I have two Elite 8 lights out and one never worked out of the box the other worked for a month and quit....nothing...notta. FINALLY got a hold of customer service after 6 emails and 30 phone calls. Talked to a nice person who promised me full replacement on both with no cost to me. Also said he would throw some WGI gear in the box to make up for my shipping costs. I shipped them kept and followed the tracking number and they were delivered and received at WGI. Have called 30 more times 10 more emails.....nothing cant find them. I gave them the tracking number so they could confirm I wasn't trying to bull shit them. Now they will not do anything for me and are being rude when its proven there fault in shipping/receiving and faulty products. I will never buy another WGI product period!!!! Im done.

No more WGI for me
I gave WGI a try but everything turned out to be cheap junk. Maybe WGI should spend more $$ on product improvement and less on TV shows pimps.

Noisy
I have two WGI cam's. They are the Black box IR cams. Cheap low cost think I paid like $50-$60 for them a couple years ago. They are still working fine. One of them does make a soft cycling noise when the photo takes. But other than that I haven't had an issue with them (knock on wood).. Sounds Like I was a lucky one. I have actually left these cameras out through the end of winter till july the following year and they are still going. But my next couple cams are going to be Moultrie. All my buddies use them and like them.

I dont understand those guys! They were raised in the oilpatch and had to give good service to stay in business! I guess once you hunt with the 'hunting celebrities' you dont have to care if our stuff works!! 2 cameras in the trash can.

Not to bash WGI cameras, but I have had my fill of them too. Stopped working, no display, etc, etc,..... Not to push anyone elses product, but I started using the Bushnell Trophy Cams. They are twice the price of a WGI IR4, but here is the bargain; 8 Lithium Ion batteries that will last all season, even through the really cold month of January! In fact, I had one last almost 2 seasons without needing new batteries! Just my 2 cents on game cameras; If you get a pic of a really good buck, take the camera out. If you don't think it spooks mature bucks, think again. If you absolutely need more pics of him; 1. Cover the PIR sensor. 2. Get one that doesn't flash. 3. Move it from tree to tree. 4. Place it higher on the tree aiming down. Happy hunting.

Everything We've tried from them is junk. Hope they get the word that folks are not happy and spend more time working on their brand and less time hosting beauty pageants and CMT celebrities.

Would really like to support Louisiana companies but not when the product is so inferior.
