On a recent trip out of Grand Isle, Tommy Vidrine got on a phenomenal trout bite with big trout coming in on every cast.
With a strong incoming tide, Vidrine found a school of big trout. He caught the trout by free-lining shrimp with a 2/0 Kahle hook. He ended up releasing five fish that were 24-25 inches and kept a few others in the 18-22 inch range for dinner.
According to Vidrine, Grand Isle should remain a big trout hot spot for the next two months, and days when the wind calms down are the days to go.
