CAPE HORN 27xs

The Cape Horn 27xs is the center-console fishing boat for everyone who has wanted one of the company’s legendary 31-footers but for whatever reason it wasn’t to be.

This boat is proof that the acorn doesn’t fall far from the family tree. The 27xs is a boat for fishermen who have a passion for fishing the big water, and it includes amenities the whole family will appreciate.

Cape Horn is a family owned and operated business steeped in tradition. Thirty years ago the seeds were sown for a fishing boat that included the power, trim and outfitting for tournament success but was still easy going and comfortable enough for family outings.

The 27xs is the latest offering, and it hits that nail squarely on the head.

It has a new deep V design that is the driest- and softest-riding hull yet from Cape Horn. The design also increases speed and fuel economy.

Construction details are state of the art, using marine composites and no wood. Every Cape Horn hull is pressure-filled with closed-cell foam that quiets the ride, adds stiffness to the hull and makes every Cape Horn absolutely unsinkable. That’s a lot of comfort, both physical and mental.

The fishing features begin with a 90-square-foot floor plan with plenty of room for rigging and chasing hot fish. A 42-gallon livewell gives the means to carry lots of frisky baits, and a 7-foot-long fish box (with a 700-quart capacity), makes for ample space to store your catch.

The things you don’t think about until they break are all upgraded, so you won’t have to worry about them. Key design and construction features include fast draining cockpits to get water off the decks when it finds its way in; commercial rub rails that hold up; yacht-grade and oversized stainless steel hardware so everything works like it should, regardless of the sea conditions; and tinned wiring to prevent corrosion and last a lifetime; stainless steel touch-to-push waterproof switches that keep working while looking good on the dash.

And Cape Horn boats are available factory rigged with the latest technology, including digital controls.

Sometimes it’s the small things that count, and this little sister of Cape Horn’s legendary 31-footer has an abundance of fishing features and creature comforts to appeal to everyone from the casual angler to the dedicated tournament fisherman.
