Marsh Man Masson vid: Catching redfish after a tropical storm

Strong fishing enters a new level in the wake of Gordon

Tropical Storm Gordon certainly won’t be remembered for generations as a monumental deliverer of destruction, but that doesn’t mean the storm didn’t leave its mark. As weak as it was, Gordon pushed a surge of Gulf water into the marshes of South Louisiana, and with that came a bunch of bait that inspired redfish to go on a multi-day feeding binge.

Capt. Corey Gradwohl has had a front-row seat to the action, and this week, he took Marsh Man Masson along to get in on the fun.

The anglers gambled early, looking for some speckled trout, but when that didn’t exactly go as planned, they fell back on the sure thing.

Gordon set a spark to South Louisiana redfish, and now they’re on fire. Gradwohl says the run will only strengthen throughout the fall.
