New Orleans Boat Show opens Friday in the Dome

All major boat and outboard brands will be there

The floor of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be packed with boats, motors and trailers when the 11th annual Boat Show in New Orleans kicks off Friday afternoon.

“We’re packed with boats. The Dome is full. We’ve got the latest and greatest, plus financing and insurance available,” said Lionel Dowling, boat show director. “Come out and make your best deal at the Boat Show. It’s one-stop shopping. We’re looking forward to it — we’re excited about it.”

All major boat and outboard brands will be represented at the show, which is presented by Mercury Marine, Tidewater Boats and Sea Tow.

You can literally choose your favorite boat and make a deal on the spot, Dowling said.

“You could actually come to the Boat Show, pick out the boat you like, and have it financed and insured before you leave the Dome,” he said. “All in one stop.”

And if you have children, don’t hesitate to bring them out to enjoy the show, Dowling said.

“We have a Kids’ Zone that’s free for the children to go in and play while the parents are looking at boats,” he said. “It’s free, and it’s a secure, supervised area in the West Bunker Club.”

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 5 – 12 and kids under age 5 get in free.

Show hours are 3 – 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
