Walking topwater baits are nothing new, but they’re generally one-trick ponies; they walk and don’t do much else. However, Bill Lewis Lures’ StutterStep has three different actions built into it.
Its wide tail “grabs” the water if you wish to spin it in place with aggressive rod pops, and the tail’s resistance also provides a back-and-forth weave when steadily retrieved. Finally, a standard walk-the-dog action can be had with a traditional pop-and-reel retrieve. Retail price for the 5-inch bait is set at $13.99.
