Governors from four of the five states bordering the Gulf of Mexico are calling on Congress to allow states to manage red snapper off their coasts, according to Gov. Bobby Jindalís office.
|Price Lake Road on Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge to close April 1st 2013 until further notice

Visitors to Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge should be advised that a main access road top the western end of the refuge, Price Lake Road, will be closed from April 1, 2013 until further notice, the LDWF said.
Vehicular access to fishing, crabbing and shrimping areas along the road will be temporarily blocked due to the road closure.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries has scheduled an April 4 meeting in Monroe during which the 2013-14 waterfowl hunting dates will be discussed.
The meeting will be held at the Marriott Courtyard at 4915 Pecanland Mall Drive in Monroe, and it will start at 5:30 p.m., the LDWF said.
