LDWF agent shot multiple times in the line of duty

A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agent was shot multiple times early this morning (Jan. 7) during a vehicle stop, the agency reported.

Monroe's Senior Agent Tyler Wheeler, who had stopped a vehicle on Highway 165 between Sterlington and Bastrop at 2:06 a.m., was airlifted to the LSU Health Shreveport Trauma Center about 4 a.m., but the extent of his injuries is currently unknown, the LDWF said in a news release.
