My 15-year-old son was out-fishing three grown, veteran anglers. Trout were flopping over the gunwale, and Garrett was his usual unassuming self.

My father had a simple rule when I was growing up: When he gave instructions, he didn’t repeat himself – without some physical reinforcement that made it uncomfortable to sit down. Public officials say concerns about anglers eating seafood are driving fishing closures following the BP oil spill, but not one of the thousands of fish, shellfish, water or sediment samples collected across coastal Louisiana has revealed any contamination, LouisianaSportsman.com has learned.
